CBS News once again shoots itself in the foot (head?)

The funny thing is that story on W was probably correct, but the documents as I recall were likely forgeries which CBS failed to authenticate. One might fairly call it shotty journalism, but then again if you think a source is legit I’m not sure the standard was ever to do a forensic analysis. So I think you’d have to blame the forger for that deception, unless the forgery was so blatantly bad the journalist should have known.

That Dan Rather situation almost seems quaint when you look at the garbage people run with now. People bringing up “50,000,000 condoms to GAZA!” or “there’s millions of 150 year olds collecting social security!” are sitting here going on about Dan Rather from 20 years ago. Peak irony.
