How on earth did she(?) ever prosecute a case? Did she ever appear in court? I can’t believe a witness or jury could understand her “jibber jabber”.
It seems like a low energy answer where she just threw out a bunch of empty platitudes about protecting democracy. Nothing really stands out otherwise. Grasping for straws comparing this “word salad” moment to the thousands of crazy Trump rants babbling about things like electric sharks or Arnold Palmer’s dong.
I’ve got two degrees from UF, most likely both more valuable than yours. Do you think people should give you both?
I don't need them--I'm doing fine. I'd suggest a bonfire outside of the Reitz for the documents and then straight into a cult deprogramming center. Then job assistance to find them a suitable non-degree needed position more suitable to their stature.
Nah, because it’s pure hypocrisy from the right’s end when their guy says and does stuff way more cringeworthy on basically an every day basis. You can’t say “how can you support her?” based on this response when your dude is an incoherent, senile grandpa. We can ask you all the exact same thing.
The Presidential campaign is effectively between 2 people. Her answer was nonsensical overall, but I wouldn’t even call it “word salad” compared to some of Trumps actual word salads. More like just a series of empty platitudes. Seems like it’s trying to do the bOtH sIdEs thing again. The problem is the people going “omg this person is a Presidential candidate omg!!!” are mostly passionate Trump supporters. Which means they’ve ignored literally thousands of worse moments which make this not even seem noteworthy by comparison.
I used to think Trump was the worst possible candidate. Then the democrats said hold my beer… She is god awful man. She actually makes Trump look good.
I mean, did you not understand the point? Granted, we didn't hear the question, but the answer wasn't some incoherent ramble from Trump. It was quite clear what she was saying. Democracy is the best form of government, but it's fragile. People may feel powerless in this moment, but we aren't. We have the ability to vote to preserve democracy. It's not difficult to understand the point, and it's consistent with her messaging about Trump being a threat.
I think it would inject accuracy into your discussions if you recognized that, well, anyone not voting for Trump IS morally superior to anyone who is. I mean, voting for........ a twice-impeached, convicted felon, adjudicated and admitted sexual assaulter, who is a serial liar and adulterer, who runs a campaign based on racial grievance and race-baiting, and who enacted a criminal conspiracy to overturn an election.........ABSOLUTELY detracts from a person's moral standing. Tbh, it would be absurd to think the opposite.
Found the question. The question was about people's extreme fear and anxiety over this election. Here's the transcript of the answer (the part included in the OP's video): Remarks by Vice President Harris and Liz Cheney at a Campaign Event | Royal Oak, MI | The White House But let me, if I can just speak to the — what people are feeling. You — we cannot despair. We cannot despair. You know, the nature of a democracy is such that I think there’s a duality. On the one hand, there’s an incredible strength when our democracy is intact, an incredible strength in what it does to protect the freedoms and rights of its people. Oh, there’s great strength in that. And it is very fragile. It is only as strong as our willingness to fight for it. And so, that’s the moment we’re in. And I say, do not despair, because in a democracy, as long as we can keep it — in our democracy, the people, every individual has the power to make a decision about what this will be, and that’s — and so let’s not feel powerless. Let’s not let the som- — and I get it — overwhelming nature of this all make us feel powerless, because then we have been defeated, and that’s not our character as the American people. We are not one to be defeated. We rise to a moment, and we stand on broad shoulders of people who have fought this fight before for our country. And in many ways, let us look at the challenge then that we are being presented and not be overwhelmed by it. The baton is now in our hands to fight for — not against, but for — this country we love. That’s what we have the power to do. So, let’s own that — dare I say, be joyful in what we will do in the process of owning that, which is knowing that we can and will build community and coalitions and remind people that we’re all in this together. Let’s not let the overwhelming nature of this strip us of our strength. ----------------------------------- Not difficult to understand her point about people having the capacity to fight for democracy and resist the temptation to feel powerless in the face of the threat this election poses.
I don't support him. I've said Trump is not fit for office and should be disqualified so that means by default, we should have Kamala as our president. But Im able to say its going to be a chit show. Its like you're at a restaurant where the options are chit sandwich or a burnt shoe and you're trying to tell everyone you're eating Filet Mignon. Most people don't support Trump, they support their way of living and he represents that. They don't want their city to look like New York. Why is that so hard to figure out? You guys act like you guys would vote for a Republican if it was someone else that didn't have baggage. Just be honest about why you are voting for her. Try to look at someone who votes for Trump as someone trying to feed their family. Not everything is about you or your party. Some people just want to feed their family and they believe Trumps policies are better for them. Would you vote for someone else and jeopardize your family being able to eat just to vote for the other candidate? Doubt it.
No harm. No foul. Just too long. I could (but I won't) post 30+ far more incoherent "rants" by Trump, proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that Trump is a bonafide moron.
And yet you pretty clearly don't even know what a "rant" is. Weird. Look, Bluke is following you around liking all your posts. That's a pretty clear indicator that you're on the wrong pathway in life. Perhaps it's time to make some changes? Small Pro Tip : If there's a person who is clearly (adjudicated in court, even) a sexual predator and rapist.........don't cast a vote for them to be the President of the United States of America. Start with the little things, friend!
You're a one trick pony that says the same thing over and over. Never had a thought of your own. For some reason I cant get myself to block you though. It's like the gift that keeps on giving.
