The 5 star DE from Tampa who de committed from Notre Dame (the position coach was leaving ND) and for two weeks Alabama called his HS coach and him every day. Florida? Zero!!!!! He committed to Alabama. The HS coach could not believe how professional & personal Alabama was. He was shocked Florida made zero effort as the player wanted to stay close to home. Now all I’m hearing is crickets RE the transfer portal. No new DC. Why doesn’t any reporter ask WTH is going on?
HEARD Keeley wanted to take his OV for either the UK or another game (not the LSU game) but the staff stuck to their schedule of wanting LSU to be OV week and that kinda ticked em off.
that deals to me like a kid responding to used car salesman tactics where the deal offered expires when you walk out the door.
He loved the coach that recruited him originally and his HS coach is a huge ND fan. Things do change sometimes as we all know. UF whiffed on every 5 star recruit in the state of Florida this year. It’s a true story..sorry if you don’t like it.
It really doesn't matter if I like it or not. Personally, it sounds to me that he might have been looking for the best payday. Maybe that is why UF didn't prioritize his recruitment.
I know for a fact it was not. It was the daily reaching out by Alabama. Per my friend who is his coach, we did not do anything. He’s a good kid good grades and, from what I understand, he is not some cocky showmethemoney HS dude. Mainly wanting a great defensive mind to play for and prepare him for hopefully, the NFL. Do we have a DC like that?...if he is looking to get paid then we should’ve paid him. From what I’m hearing, Unlike FSU and Georgia and UNC, Florida did not contact the coach or player one single time.
Where is Paul Harvey when you need him? Something is not adding up with these posts.........need "The Rest of the Story".
If Shane can spin a negative on our staff he’ll jump at the opportunity. I saw on some website that some reporter said that some kid looked at Florida but some other school got money to him before the buffoons at UF could figure out what end is up so we lost another potential 5* out of sheer stupidity….., And the reporter is very respected by the way….
And that could be, as well. I was just responding to the notion that the young man was “ticked off” bc he couldn’t visit for a specific game/weekend, and that was enough to turn him off to us. If so, he didn’t actually want to be a Gator imo.
A lot of shots, some more subtle than others, being directed at this staff. They’re all idiots to some here. Yet, those idiots have put together a very solid 2023 class (still not done), and have a great start to 2024. The consensus on this board has been to acknowledge that UF had fallen off the pace of the elites. We all (mostly) acknowledge that BN inherited what was effectively a total rebuild. Yet, right at 1 year into his tenure, many are upset because it’s not ALL fixed. Just seems illogical to me. It’s a process to get to where we want to be, and stay there. Let it play out.
