Were they mad about Urban last year? Was it a rivalry then, or just now?

He didn’t say the stadium sat only 35K. He just said all they will have there is 35K.

I was being sarcastic, but when you factor in the Gator fans that will be in attendance, we're probably talking just over 40k.

That could also be true. How many UF fans will be there? Just using logic here.

The thing about football though is that while playing with energy is important, there are so many moving parts that energy alone won't overcome well coached and coordinated talent. It may score a touchdown or force a turnover but by the end of the game a teams true colors generally prevail. I'm cautiously optimistic but I have reservations until I see what transpires from the staff on the field. Last year was all over the place but I also think it didn't tell us anything one way or the other.

Getting Tony George thrown out before the game started didn't help us. They were dirty and we fell for it. Should never have let that happen.

    Right?

I mean yes Utah is certainly capable of beating and/or whipping the Gators. But their fans should at least use real reasons. The Broncos, Nuggets, and Rockies don’t win the championship every year. Utah does not go on undefeated at home every year. I lived in Denver for years… it does make a difference, but it’s not going to be the difference in a game. It makes more of a difference if someone from sea level is out of shape and goes to high altitude. If both parties are in shape, the effect is mostly neutralized.

That’s a half empty stadium at big SEC schools.

Just a little bigger than Vandy's stadium. Not that we didn't lose to Vandy, but it wasn't due to the fan capacity.

They were one play with twenty seconds left in the game from winning last year. We were fortunate that they didn’t score because we didn’t even slow them down on that drive. They left Hogtown with resolve. I think they still have it. But I think we have a new attitude and I hope it shines through in about five hours.

I will guess ten percent, or about 5K. This is a long trip for us Gators. I’m ready to get to the hotel and put on some O&B colors.

Rice Eccles is a nice stadium but it doesn't have a big feel to it. Pretty backdrop because it's up toward the mountains. Hope we win!

Turns out we didn’t need to slow them down, just stop them cold. A million things in that game could have happened that could have changed the outcome, but the end result was —— they lost. A play here and there determine the outcome of a ton of games, but the losers get an L and the winners get a W. Being mad about Urbs didn’t get them a W last year. Acting like we’re a rival is just weird. We barely even know their name, and win or lose, won’t remember it afterwards either.

Just spit balling but I would argue our defense is a touchdown better and their offense is a touchdown worse w/o CR. Give them 3 1/2 point per Vegas for home field and our offense scratch we should add 11 points to last year’s victory. How about that?

Yeah, we are going to blow our chance at a NC by taking a damn good opponent (easily could have been a loss last year) lightly playing at home and wanting revenge.

OR...they are going to play Billyball and score as many points as they can while keeping Utah's only viable QB uncomfortable. Or should I say, keep Utah's HC and OC uncomfortable. And so, they are probably going to play it REALLY close to their vest until they can't.

Denver is 1000ft higher than SLC, FWIW. Been to SLC three times and never noticed anything at all relating to the elevation.

Last year we couldn't stop them. (same as most teams we played). They punted twice during the game. I'm not too sure about our O, but am i expecting our D to be much improved (last year was a low bar to exceed). IMO, if they punt 2-3 times in the 1st half (as an indication), we should win this game comfortably.

Fact is our D under one of the worst DC was atrocious. Just an average D last year and we would have had a winning season. Last year our D played soft, unaggressive and frankly scared no one. I could be wrong but I don't think I am, this D will be much better. It has to for no place left but up after what we saw last year.
I still think this will be a low scoring game and I suspect we will get one or two interceptions that will help put points on the board for us.
