I read Caleb Rillos will come to the team as a walk on. I also saw he was a 2020 signed to the AF Academy. Isn’t he required to complete his service commitment? Does anyone know how much eligibility he has remaining? Gators get TE Depth from Transfer Portal
Don’t know exactly what all the service obligations are, but athletes are definitely treated differently. My dad played for air force, but did not stay there his entire career and did not have to fulfill any service obligations. He also never would have been accepted there if he wasn’t a recruited athlete.
This should explain it Air Force tight end Caleb Rillos tries to keep transfer portal from becoming distraction Graduates are allowed to continue their education, Masters degree at another university. He also has 2 yrs of eligibility remaining.
I honestly thought maybe he had something like Bell’s Palsy. Something like that could result in a medical discharge as a paralytic condition, but also wouldn’t prevent him from sports or education. It’s good to see he is just chasing a Master’s.
This is about as good a pickup of a pwo as you will ever find for an offense with 2 tightends. He might be immediate cover for Hansen. I believe Zip can block too, but this guy has better size.
The plan is for him to play 4 games and redshirt, then play the entire following season and hioefully he will go pro after that.
