Bomani Jones came up with the compromise solution, have the network hire her as an analyst for basketball. She would probably get more screen time that way vs riding the bench.

Really? This shit happens all the time in sports and is nothing new, Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley being the most obvious examples. In the case of Barkley, there was a whole ad campaign built around it lol.

Clark has gender and race on top of whatever Charles and MJ had.
Bird dealt with a lot of this on race, but didn’t have gender. He and Magic helped save the NBA, but that was an established league that had just fallen on bad times. Clark is literally being looked at to legitimize an entire sport.

    it’s truly unique.

Wait, you are saying Barkley and Jordan didnt have "race" being black? They both took stances on not speaking out about social issues, and took plenty of heat from people. "Republicans buy sneakers too" and "I am not a role model."

That was around 6 years after he came into the league when he was well established as who he would become, and was also a specific race in his home state. The shoes comment came years after the Gannt race. And it was also a choice by MJ to not jump in, CC hasn’t had a choice in any of the garbage swirling around her, good or bad. MJ also was largely supported within the league (outside of the pistons), Caitlin had to fight all kinds of battles even from her peers. And again, that’s before the noise on gender. And also again, all as someone with barely 10 pro games under her belt.

They really aren’t comparable, but disagree if you like.

Ridiculous amount of pressure on her. But I guess she’s used to at least most of it
