Sully explained pre-season that Jac will stay as our Sunday starter so he can play 1B on Friday & Saturday. Not likely to change.

Cags is only starting one game a week.....does it really matter if it is Fri or Sunday?

    Agree 100%.
Heard Shane Mathews ask Scott Carter same question today. Makes sense as Friday night sets the tone and I think Cags could easily DH Saturday and play 1b Sunday. He’s a 20-21 year old elite athlete.

Again, we are saying Cags couldn’t swing a bat 4 times as a DH Saturday and play 1b or DH on Sunday. Heck, he could skip BP as he’s an extremely advanced hitter. I just don’t get why can’t swing bat. Not asking to play field on Saturday. I’d get it if soccer or football but swinging a bat and doing nothing else.

Maybe we can compromise; start him on Friday if it looks like Saturday and Sunday are going to be rained out.

I trust in Kevin O'Sullivan completely. If he keeps Jac as the Sunday starter, then that's the best thing for the team. If he moves him to another day, ditto. If anyone wants to second-guess his decision, have at it, but at that point I would say you're wrong.

I get the question, but I've never coached high level baseball or pitched in college so I have no real idea about soreness, recovery, staying healthy, and optimal performance. I'll defer to those who have.

Very good point, but it also is good to defer to coaches who produce top performing teams year in and out. Lucky for us, we have an elite guy to coach the team.

i think some are missing the soreness point. i did not say start him this friday, do it saturday, then you have 5 days between saturday and friday for the next week, then go friday to friday, 6 days rest. play the field or dh the other 2 games like he is now.some how brad wilkerson and scott ruskin, 2 tremendous 2 way players managed to do it, why not cags?
