It’s ok @gatorstevelp — them damn left handers have always stuck together…..

And you will learn that they can get pretty temperamental when you don’t agree with them.;)

Believe me if we have Holman, Austin, Cags, Coppola etc and Fisher ends up the Friday starter, as a sophomore, I will be as happy as anyone on here. The kid has the makeup of something special!

@wingtee—Our closer at Chipola was a LHP outta Pensacola name of Timmy Stewart—he would be loose in 8-10 pitches. Not much velo topping out round 86.

But like all you lefty’s, he couldn’t throw it and make it go straight. He was a ground ball machine.

One day on a rough outing for him after facing 4 hitters he had given up two doubles and two singles.

Dungan called time, went to the mound, looked at Timmy-then our catcher and asked him “Bobby what’s the deal, Tim ain’t got anything on his pitches?”

Our catcher replied “I don’t know Coach—one hadn’t made it to me yet”…..:D

Most current Gator fans have no idea how important Coach Fuller was to our program. I get that Sully is the GGOAT (Greatest Gator Of All Time) coach but we really should do more to keep him memory alive.

I liked being able to touch his plaque going to my seat at Perry Field as something to bring good luck. (Perry Field was the playing field for you youngsters. Us fans sat in the Mac but the players played on Perry Field. Much like the playing field at Ben Hill Griffen Stadium was Florida Field until recently and I get confused with all of the names now. Spurrier is in there somewhere. I don't pay much attention to football.) And his orange seat was a lot more visible at the Mac.

Coach Fuller was the Gators HC in ‘73-‘74 when I pitched at FSU. His son, John Fuller was also the Gators starting catcher. A lot of memories there.

Dave Fuller was my PE Coach back when it was required, tennis and handball, quite a man, very good coach, when I knew him he was asst in football HC in Baseball and teaching PE
when it broke that the Mac was toast more than a few of us regulars talked to Sully about making sure th new park would have a Fuller memorial, he agreed immediately I check his Orange seat every game, tried to get the Usher's head guy to inform the student ushers about Dave and the Orange seat, so far no indication of that

Back to Cade as a pitcher.

Pitching is not throwing the ball past the hitter except when they think you are not going to throw a fast ball. If you can always throw it past them when expecting a fastball then baseball is boring. But more often pitching is throwing a change-up when the hitter is expecting a four seamer. Or the other way around.

Pitching is upsetting timing. Pitching is putting the ball where the hitter doesn't think it will be.

Pitching is the soul of baseball.

He’s a freshman. Is he going to be eligible by age?
