I suspect they will overturn the vigilante lawsuit thing. I suspect they chose not to do it in TX emergency ruling because they knew they were going to overturn Roe with Mississippi law and they wanted to save some Texas fetuses in the interim.

I said it before that I think this will be a Newsome/DeSantis choice when it all plays out.

Guy seems to have a tough time interpreting shall not be infringed. Hopefully the supreme court uses this as an opportunity to make all guns legal in California as they should be. No issues with the law he stands behind but no guns should be illegal so it's moot.

Better idea would have been to allow citizens to sue the DHS, Border Control, and Mexico to recoup any damages (and punitive damages of course) caused by them allowing illegal aliens in to commit crimes.

Or perhaps to sue the state and municipal governments, police departments, district attorney, and homeless organizations for damages caused by homeless to include theft from retail stores and potential real estate value diminishment.

Except 2a specifically states it’s a constitutional right.
Show me in the constitution it specifically states right to an abortion.
    This won’t last long.

Except 2A specifically was enacted to give the states control of their own militias. The federal government using 2A to strip that authority away from the states is antithetical to the entire purpose of the amendment.

No matter how many times Republicans say this, it will remain an inane argument.

see you think states maintaining a well regulated militia also implies to the part of the right of the people to bare arms.

That would require federal regulation which was not what the creators of our government wanted. 2a was literally written to keep power away from the federal government.

The bold is exactly my point. By incorporating the Second Amendment against the states, the federal government was handed that power. In other words, you are arguing for an organ of the federal government to strip away California's control of its own militia.

But it was not incorporated just against the states. It was incorporated against government in total. It’s why this stunt from CA won’t last long.

I don't think you're fully understanding my point. Incorporation handed the federal government authority to control how states run their militias. If it has the authority to tell California it can't limit guns, it also has the authority to tell Florida to disarm all of its citizens. If you believe in leaving abortion to the states, you're being hypocritical if you don't want to do the same with guns. That was the very purpose of the Second Amendment, right?

You’re right, it won’t last long. I was waiting for someone to make that red herring comparison about abortion. It’s not about the abortion or the gun.

It’s not a second amendment issue as there’s no 2A protection for making guns illegally, is there?

Getting an abortion in a state where it’s disallowed is just as violative of that state’s laws as is making a gun in violation of another state’s laws. And passing a vigilante statute empowering private citizens to enforce those lawful statutes in either state is also the same thing, whether it’s about guns, abortions, or anything else.

So what may look very different to you on its face is actually the very same thing.

You were right, though. That didn’t take long.

Gov Nuisance isn't very well-liked outside the state of California (and some posters here).
In fact, we just tried to recall him.

Plenty of signatures, just not the best competition.
The California media painted Larry Elder as a racist.
