He started off well in the polls, which included Trump, and cratered. As I oft said, the more people got to know him, the less they would like him.

 

Anyone with a vindictive grudge against Mickey Mouse is not very likeable.

 

This is funny. Of course, I’m sure we’ve all fallen for misattributed quotes, so it isn’t really a big deal. It’s a nice quote regardless of the source.

The bigger thing here is DeSantis’ actions as governor, forcing his viewpoints via the power of the state. I’d like to think that this loss speaks for our common distaste for such authoritarian actions, but unfortunately, I cannot, as he was at his popular after those antics. Instead, he seems to have lost because people are still committed to Trump, a politician that hardly has more respect for the limits of the government control, so it’s hard to feel like this is too much of a victory for liberty.

 

Tilly can't help but defend the trolls on the pub side. They constantly spew garbage and insults, but if someone gives it back to them he comes to the rescue.

I'm sure he is embarrassed by them, but kindred spirits I guess.

Regardless, i took his shot at you as more of a general shot at Colorado's legalization situation with you just being the target, but if I missed that then fair enough. Nowhere near as personal as outing someones education level (as if that is any fair measure.)

But lets be honest, his shot at general Colorado stoner types was just that, an unfair generalization, but some around here don't have an issue with generalizing people. Ethnicity, religion, education... Its all pretty middle school to me.

 

If Trump wins this election, do you think there will be one in 2028? That rates an "Optimistic." If there is one, it will of course be rigged (sort of a Trump self-fulfilling prophecy) as in any dictatorship. And if DeSantis is Trump's personally chosen successor (assuming that Trump in effect won't be President for Life), then he will certainly win. The future is bright!
