100%. Its why i don't understand the vitriol over the buyout and the failure.

Players are fighting hard for the guy. He cares more than any of us ever dream of caring.

We need a new head coach, but we dont need to lose our humanity in the process

I think thats the point. We dont REALLY suffer anything on a deep level. He on the other hand is viewed as a failure, becomes a media punchline and has to deal with his kids hearing all sorts of things.

I don't even like our fans booing him.

He was a solid hire on paper and got all sorts of new things added to the program. He just Isn't good at the SEC level in actual X/O's.

I am ready with paying him his contract and parting ways with class and dignity on both sides.

I dont get the animosity and lack of caring about people on a human level.

This dude hasn't quit, he hasnt stopped working, he had a team ready to play in a very hostile top 10 environment.

He just isn't ready once the lights go on to make the right decisions.

Lets all shake hands and move on.

    Very interesting.

Saban said flat out how different it was now with NIL$$$ and all recruits and families cared about was the $. Even though we all know damn well his guys were getting $ under the table he was recruiting on relationship and development aspect. Then it was gone. With transfer rules it’s even more magnified.

Crazy state of affairs for the game we all love.

Eh, I agree somewhat but I consider everything we discuss here in a sports sense. I don't "hate" all Georgia bulldogs but I hate Georgia as a collective sports entity. It's not that serious but in a sports sense Sunday's are better when the Gators win and losses "hurt." Life goes on either way of course. Don't think it has to be said except for some of the fanatics that lose their minds over sports.

Something that hasnt been discussed much is that if... IF.... he somehow survived this season, then Florida may be forced to "extend" him just to eliminate the negative recruiting and lack of staffing options for a lame duck coach.

That fact alone almost makes anything outside of a miraculous turnaround to be deemed not enough

He would still have 4yrs remaining on his original deal after this season. NIL killed the “I need a 5+ year contract in my back pocket at all times in order to recruit” nonsense, at least it should have. Jimmy Sexton created that ridiculous straw man. You’re basically building all in one year teams now, imho.

Agreed. fsu is learning this lesson the hard way after all the transfers that Norvell got were not as good as advertised.

....as he cries all the way to the bank 28 million dollars richer.

I'll have some of poor Biwee's suffering plz...

So what you're telling me is Saban is trying to sabotage the Gators. Now that makes sense, kind of like when Finebum tries to give advice to Gator fans to improve the program.

No i want to find someone competent to run the program not have a bunch of swinging d**** try to agree on coordinators. It is the stupidest idea i think I've ever heard.

I'll be more than happy to shake hands at a reduced buyout. If he is miserable and ashamed of his performance then he knows he is nowhere near meeting expectations and would get a TON of goodwill on the way out for that admission. He is still young enough to start again too.

Lol! IOW, exactly what I said.

Do the exact same shit we've done....expect different results.

    But my idea is stupid.

PS-- Spurrier, Tebow, Wuerfel, Doering, Emmitt, Kerwin... these guys are just "swinging *D's*???

(.... who can't do better than what we've seen since Meyer left?)

...huh.... woulda thought the likes of those guys would garner a little more respect.

    Yes extremely stupid.

Why don't you call in to the Steve Russell show with Shane and sos on Tuesdays at 11am and get laughed at by them about the idea.

That's the thing about innovation. It's always laughed at, until someone has the sack to try something new.

In the psych ward, the revolutionary idea of taking responsibility for your own thoughts, words, and actions, would be, and I'm sure is, regularly scoffed and laughed at...

...because no one else in there does it (and no one's telling them to...).

A dream job and $50 million is very different compared to everyone else’s “sh**tiest time of my life”. I get the guy is human and has feelings too, but let’s not get too carried away with the sympathy. He is well compensated for the stress and expectations of this, he is set for life. I’ll reserve my sympathy for the players and other staff members who are putting in the work and are at the beginning of their careers.
