You would have to at least take a shot at the big names: Kiffin and then maybe Riley or Lanning. Someone that would get the players and recruits attention. After that, I keep hearing Jeff Brohm's name tossed around but who knows.

After listening to Shane's Podcast, the players and recruits are not what's important. What's important is getting the right coach. You get the right coach, with the portal the way it is, they will get the players.

Come on Tilly, nobody in their right mind ever looked at SOS as a douche. No doubt our rivals considered him an asshole. But Steve Spurrier was respected by everyone — nobody respects a douchebag. That’s one of the key things that makes someone a douchebag, right?

 

And if he’s rolling at Florida, why would he leave that for Bama?

This. Everytime I read him using UF as a stepping stone to NFL or other top notch job that means those teams want him. I know it may be hard to remember but it's pretty damn fun when others want to steal your coach. Sign me up.

What exactly do y'all want for a coach?
Someone that will win and win quickly? Kiffin ... ass hole or not
Someone that is not an ass hole and is a nice guy? Napier....why change?
Someone with ties to the school and is fully dedicated to UF? Kerwin Bell or Jedd Fisch .... I'd take Bell over Fisch

 

Other ADs get it right in less than 4 tries. And the game is no longer perfection but top 12. Thinking anyone competent is going to report to a committee is os insanely delusional. This isnt a corp with a BOD where every decision can be questioned.
Hate the game not the player. SS and JF have created the mess we are in use an experienced committee to pick the next coach and let him win or lose

 

Here’s what’s going to happen: UAA is gonna pick some low level coach with no experience on the cheap. Tilly here will love the pick. Forumers will say very early on this guy cant coach. Tilly will scold these forumers. Then 3 years later when we are still a dumpster fire, Tilly will say the guy cant coach and people will love it like its some recent eureka.

 

This is one of my concerns... who would be next.

Hey, when I played youth sports, you had a better chance of being drafted onto a team if you had a dad who would help coach. Any recruits out there who can bring a head coach along with you?
