I believe he got a big bump right after last season. The same happened after Jimbo's national championship season. Both coaches caught lightning in a bottle at QB (Winston and Travis), but quickly returned to average coaches once those players were gone.
Yeah... that's not a buyout, that's a bounty. Lol! (I'm talking figuratively, lest there be any misunderstanding... world's so wack these days, msg board posts requires disclaimers).
Looks like the money is talking loud and clear: Sources: If Billy Napier is dismissed, Florida will search for ‘premier and proven name’ from Power conference
Some of us have been trying to figure out what's wrong with Florida. Urban answers it in the interview I posted. The momentum has been killed!!!
If true, color me embarrassed. Having to do this because of Stricklin's poor leadership to me, means he needs to move on. IF it happens, I am praying we don't get less than what we are paying for again.
We've tried the " up and comers" and " the next big thing". No guarantees, but a proven winner at a high level would be nice. 15 years down the toilet is enough.
Yeah yeah yeah...didn't yall hear the implicit *hypothetically speaking* that preceded his answer? The *call me* in between the lines? The "how much we talkn'?" at the very end, as they cut the audio?
Bro.... "on good authority" = "college football *TROLL*" Literally. Look at it again. Just having some fun here.
Ehh there's no Saban to get, and very few coaches meet this definition. I can understand the sentiment but I wonder if they'll actually be able to do it.
In the last off season, Clemson and the service academies were the only football programs out of 132 FBS schools to not take a single transfer in the portal. The service academies basically can’t - unless someone from say Stanford wants to join the army. Swinney probably knows his roster better than anyone else…but there are definitely - or were - players in the portal better than some of the 85 scholarship players on their team. To name just a few - Cam Ward is a better QB than Clemsons qb, Walter Nolan is a better DT than both starting DTs for Clemson, Isaiah Bond and Evan Stewart are better WRs than any receiver on Clemson roster. (Their WRs have been horrid the past 2 seasons). Caleb Downs an all American safety is better than all of Clemsons safeties. There are more and more out there that were available to consider that would have improved their roster. Also to consider….Clemson lost 12 players in the last transfer portal. Losing 12 and gaining 0 can hurt depth. It is impossible to sign an additional 12 players out of high school - especially that would be able to contribute day 1 like a transfer might. A typical signing class is 25-30 guys. They’d need to sign 37-42 to make up for the losses in the portal. He may believe he has the perfect roster and perfect depth. But he does a disservice to his team by not attempting to improve the roster by ignoring the portal.
I'm all for Lane coming here. Shane Matthews claims he has a sources that tells him Lane is interested in Florida. We shall see how this shakes out.
