Gainesville isn’t a metropolitan area and we come from all over. LA doesn’t have a problem. I think down south, almost any town can pull college football.
Here’s what I don’t get about how some people argue — why can’t someone express their problems with Lane Kiffin without you then declaring what they think about a collection of entirely different people? That’s BS
The most disconcerting thing about that is Napier openly stating he studied where other coaches failed and vowed to not make the same mistakes. I guess the problem is that he was satisfied with the offense since it was the "strength" of the team compared to defense and special teams so if it ain't broke don't fix it. It hasn't been terrible for the most part but it hasn't been something to be satisfied with either.
Why not? They going to stop being Gators and Gator football fans, for being on a committee/board of trustees?
They know they are going to get a ridiculous contract for the Coach that they are handling. They won’t accept anything less.
Read something interesting about the vandy coach on another board. Apparently from an interview. Something about realizing what the game is today with NIL and the portal so school pride isn't a focus. Stopped the rah rah stuff and went straight to what it takes to win games. Focused solely on football. Something to that effect. Sad for the traditionalists but that's where we are at now.
You want to establish a committee to determine who the OC DC and STC are? A committee?? Bwahahahahaha.
Not just that, but he said he used to invest in the personal development of the players only to have them transfer, so he's decided to forgo the team building and character building he used to do for straight game prep. And in the won/loss column it's paying off for them. In the historic purpose and fan connection of the sport, the outcome for this kind of change is yet to be determined.
The fact people seem to think failed HCs are happy because they have generational wealth is just flat wrong. This is likely Napiers shittiest time in his life. For high earners, success is what matters. For Napier everything he dreamed of and thought of himself is shattering. Most people do not have careers where failure is even on the table. You just go through the motions, rise to a certain level, and that’s that. Poor performance is largely incremental. At Napiers level poor performance is humiliating and leads to a crash in psyche. Napier would trade millions to be undefeated right now
It's so cute that some fans continue to think that coaches "recruit" kids to come play for a school anymore.
think it was from Gameday (?). Also comments about team building exercises and development. Just go straight at football without distractions. You can’t keep and mentor folks under current rules. No hugs allowed , lol
You want to do the same shit we've done for the last 15 years, and expect something better???? Bwahahahaha!!!
I don't think the fan aspect matters as far as method. Seems like the same result from a loyalty standpoint which is to say there is none.
Lot of reasons to go to UF other than football - friends/family nearby in Fla, weather, lower cost of admission (bright futures), attractive campus, your area of study, alumni network, great all around sports program, etc etc. Assumes you can get in of course. Having a good football team is a nice bonus for fall Saturdays, but I certainly didn't go to UF because of the football program and neither did my son.
