Have you looked at their schedule? Nebraska 50/50. Washington 50/50. @Michigan st Win Michigan 50/50 @OSU loss Purdue blowout win. I would wager 4-2 or 3-3.
Honest question. Should a win over UCF shift the conversation over the Gator coach? A loss, yes. A win? I think that we should celebrate it, but no, it does not alter the 3 year trajectory we are all looking at. The expectation for UF is that we should compete for SEC titles, not struggle for winning seasons. Having said that, let's beat the vols and cats - that might be a conversation starter. BTW - WTF with our team finally having "competitive" practices this past week? Where has that been?
Should we contend for titles, Yes! But when was the last year that has happened 08? It would be nice to get back to winning 10 games and being competitive again. I think the UCF win proves we are not the worst team in America, nor the SEC. This schedule is brutal for this year and next year. Our losses have come against two teams who are combined 11-1. We are currently a mid level SEC team, who is trying to break out of this mediocre cycle. If we step back from the ledge we might not be as bad as the Miami game made us look like, but at the same time not good enough to breakthrough the gauntlet of what lies ahead of this schedule.
Really? It’s a win against a team we should beat with our eyes closed, but Billy has reduced us to a level where it is a cause for celebration when we win. That should be the reason for being sad, that we are going into a game against UCF worried that we may lose. But even with a great first half, we saw the same issues raise their head in the second half. And it is those issues that have most of us looking forward to a new coaching staff with a killer instinct.
I guess my statement could be taken two ways but I am not getting on to anyone. I am stating nothing has changed. We won but who’s next? Not, hey we won, why are y’all still talking about this?
