Listening to Shane Matthews on his podcast right now he said his top five head Coaches would be Kiffin Kiffin Kiffin Lincoln Riley Brohm
The problem is he has done terrible with Nil, now that being said it would be a 100% improvement from where he is at. I only see him leaving for Alabama though.
This is really the only thing to talk about right now, going in circles about whether Lane will or won't come is pointless. Jeff Brohm might be a good candidate.
Sure hope not. He's done nothing but get progressively worse using Bob stoops team that I firmly believe any GC poster could have taken and done just as well.
Weiner is the weiner that was steering Plant talent away from UF (like the SEC's leading career passer). No thanks.
Sun's out here, so it will be there soon. What a mess though. Like the "No Name" storm in SW Florida when I was a kid. Just sorta outta nowhere. Thank God it didn't form further out and develop more than it did
In all seriousness, there has to be more choices for coaches. But please, please do not let SS make the selection.
By most indications the Bulls are all aboard the Lane train, Kiff or bust. Okay, that gives Jimmy Sexton and another horse in his stable all the cards, again. Because Scott was completely fixated on Billy last time he bent UF over the couch with a ridiculous 7yr $51.8mil contract. UF will now be paying half of that to him not to coach here. Kirby is currently the highest paid at $13mil. The next level of guys are in the $10-11 range. What’s Kiffin gonna cost? He’s at around $9mil now. $12mil maybe? Ole Miss would easily match that. Will Sexton try to go ahead and demand something north of Kirby? The total package will likely be $100+mil and a BIG staff budget. Double or more of the big mistake with Billy. Crazy times! aTm ran Jimbo off and gave him a $75mil parting gift. They’re loaded to the gills with $$$$$. Many thought they would make a shoot for the moon big fish hire. I personally thought they would give Kiffin a blank check and say fill it in. They didn’t go that route though. Instead they went out and hired a solid well thought of football coach in Mike Elko. Definitely not a flashy hire. They gave him a 6yr $7mil contract with a $11mil staff budget. Not exactly breaking the bank. Only time will tell, but he just might be a good hire for them.
It's gonna be expensive. Minimum 12 mill a year with probably a 10 year contract would be my guess. No idea on staff budget. It's not my money. It's gonna be an interesting search for sure.
Sure you could... and you could be an AD getting fired. Lol... j/k. He's doing fine where he is. We cannot afford the get another coordinator... again.
Nor would I and it would give me some ammo living here in Tiger Country. You didn't appreciate him. . . Clemsoning has returned.
He doesn't need the portal, that's just ESPN/Disney propaganda. He has a roster that would make Gator fans blush at this point. All he needs is one of his last two 5 star #1 QB prospects to play like it. After Boyd, Watson, Bryant and Lawrence, you can't put their weak QB play on him. That's really all that's stopping them from dominance at this point. DJ down in Tally is really doing the entire country a favor so I won't call him a bust just yet, lol. Disagree bacon is for people with nothing to say! Refute it!
Yeah but the calculation there is also simple: the opportunity cost of taking the chance on another "potential" coach if it fails, demands the shot be taken. And you just have to hope he can reel a bunch of those players from Ole Miss to follow him + the MASSIVE hype train that would ensue would be enough to get a class together this year between portal and remaining time with class. And quite frankly its more likely than not to work out just fine because the hype train will be so massive and the NIL money will flow in from very enthusiastic boosters that we would pull enough surprise commitments + players who were considering Florida anyway who are deciding at the end. (Plus whatever it takes to make sure we keep lagway) And also think said hype train + NIL money would keep the VAST majority of players, especially if they knew they had a playoff coach coming in. Our cupboard is not bare. We are not rebuilding. We have the #12 team in the 24/7 team composite rankings. We keep the majority of what we have (and Lagway especially), bring in some solid players from Ole Miss with him + transfers and a decent class and we are in very good shape.
