Saw that. I am kinda getting to where I could accept him if he came to UF. Not quite there, though, due to his past antics. He has appeal but he has baggage.
I find Mullen kind of weird. Not eccentric or interesting or off beat, odd like trying to high five Feleipe Franks and dance on the sidelines like cousin Eddie Christmas Vacation weird.
Fair enough, but I couldn't resist. Seems we were definitely looking for the anti-Mullen with Napier.
What I have always wondered is why did he quit on us? SOMETHING happened to make him unhappy in his situation at UF. What was it? One would think that perhaps he felt as if his employer wasn’t supporting him in some way, not giving him what he felt like he needed to succeed or compete with other schools on an equal footing. Has this manifested itself in the product on the field over the past couple of decades? Make no mistake, he demonstrated that he COULD do the job and that he COULD be the guy to take it to he big boys. If he truly felt that way and felt as though he was trapped in a situation where he was hamstrung and wasting his time trying to compete with the Bamas and UGAs of the world what do you do? Walk away from generational wealth because you are frustrated? Or hope you can get yourself fired and walk away a wealthy man? I guess we will never know because of Mullen’s NDA and UF certainly isn’t going to tell us.
I think he thought he was headed to the NFL after that OU loss, but got no interest. That and the lack of support in him wanting to keep Grantham and Hevesy is why he quit IMO.
Ole Miss like the 23 Noles are all in for 24. And also like fsu They lose a lot of players this year.
Ole Miss’ purchased team is very talented but also very thin. They are on their knees praying that they stay healthy. I don’t see them winning it.
