For all the Gruden fans, of which I am not! Super Bowl champion Jon Gruden says he'll be 'ready to go' if a team wants to hire him as head coach
The anti Napier. And they are predicted now to make the playoffs and finish 11 and 1.... at Indiana.....
For roughly 2 extra wins/year. While it’s certainly better than what we’ve had with Napier, we’d be in full meltdown if we were paying that for 8 wins a year
I would love for Napier to have been a good coach. Young guy and by all accounts a genuine good guy. I'd take his approach as someone who is above negativity or trash talk if it resulted in success but he clearly can't coach or be a CEO at this level yet. This program needs an adrenaline shot and cignetti seems to be capable of that. He's my number 1 until any significant negatives come out about him. Of course, in typical Florida Gator luck, this is the first year of the expanded playoff and freaking Indiana of all programs seems to be a playoff contender which will hinder any proceedings if there is any interest from either party. Had the playoffs not expanded I could see him wanting to make the jump to Florida but if he's able to make Indiana a playoff team in short time then why should he leave?
When UF has been rocking we never really had a nice guy at the helm. Cocky, arrogant, hates to lose. HBC, Urban, hell even Mullen was cocky.....Napier (not even close). He's clearly out his realm and needs to go back to a lower league.
