People tend to forget the little issue that Kiffin may want no parts of this mess. He is at Ole Miss under the new playoff rules. He currently has a team that may make the 12 team playoff and he may be a mainstay in the top 12 playoff picture every year or every other year. Ole Miss would be happy with that and keep extending his contract and driving the brinks truck up to his house. He looks at what happened to Mullen after leaving MS ST and he may have reservations leaving his current set up for the _____show in Gainesville. His daughter goes to Ole Miss and doesn’t want her dad to move. He may still be the choice and he may still come but I just don’t see it from a logical standpoint
Maybe it was Kerwin who turned the job down....perhaps he was able to figure out Muschamp's tendency to overrule his OC's and decided to dodge that bullet.
The thing is, it's not just us. He just got his first G5 job a couple of years ago. Shane had mentioned that he doesn't have an agent, so maybe that's a contributor, but it just seems odd.
Shane said yesterday that if Kerwin was hired, Shane would join as an analyst lol. Its funny, but I think we need something like this. Guys who care about the program deeply, and are great football minds. You think BN, Mac, and Muschamp gave a crud about UF football before they were hired?
I would agree if they can provide assurances that he will have backing from whoever the incoming AD & Prez end up being but given Florida's history I don't know how much weight those assurances provide. If this was Alabama he would be pretty confident I suspect.
Yeah people tend to forget it so much it's mentioned on every page of every coach thread of every Gator board to ever exist.
There is mounting evidence that "they" live in the UAA and hamper the athletic director and the head coach, but who is "they"? Rather than pinpointing a name, it is time to have an outsider evaluate football operations and for UF to make serious changes. With each coach we hear stories of a head coach not getting support needed to succeed. Supposedly, Napier has been getting all the support needed, but has made bad choices with that support. I would like to see an NFL-style general manager on staff so the next head coach can focus more on Xs and Os.
Napier had none of those concerns and has failed. This is the list of concerns thay should matter at this point. 1. Can he coach winning football?
Is there anyone in the program who is an alumni, who actually ha Here is my question. If Kalen Deboer does not pan out at Bama 2-3 seasons from now, and Lane is here at UF turning us around into success, does he leave us for Bama?
