Make an offer to Lane that includes a clause that we will better any counter offer Ole Miss comes back with based on money and length of contract. If he is the home run hire, we need to close the deal and be willing to go to the mats to get our guy. Do not settle for less. Unless Urban signs to come on board one minute after the end of the f$u game.
You just need to make sure there isn't another plane landing for a surprise political rally that day...I hear that doesn't go over well.
Listen, I know everyone is leaning towards the next coach being a established headcoach, but Ive been going over head coaches from around the country to see who's done this or that. While doing that I took alook at the style of offense and defense each ran, as well as who their assistant coaches were. While taking a look at the University of Toledo's Head Coach Jason Candle, my eyes suddenly lit up when I saw the name Rob Weiner was the QB's and Co-OC there. For those of you not familiar with Weiner, he was born in Tampa, went to HS at Tampa Jesuit got his degree from Boston College (get this though, never played football). After graduating from Boston College he would return to Florida and take a assitant coaching position at Jesuit HS and later a Baseball coach position at Crystal River, before taking the Head coaching job for Football at Plant HS, where he would take and win 4 state titles and have 2 runner-up teams in Florida's largest and 2nd largest classifications. He would leave Plant HS in 2020 to take the OC position at the University of Toledo. He's been nothing but successful there, being largley responible for the development of QB DeQuan Finn, and also recieving awards for recruiting. Jason Candle (44 years old), has been the Headcoach at Toledo since 2016 and has a over-all record of 68-35, winning two Mac Championships in 2017 and 2022, while playing for a Mac Championship in 2023. I find both of these guys intriguing in as far as what they done collectively at Toledo, Weiner for his coaching background, as well as knowing the Florida landscape from a recruiting standpoint.....just some thoughts, maybe a package deal of some sort?
Um, sorry. Ignore the last post that just added to the post count when all I cared about was to prevent post accumulation. I thank you.
