On that list Klieman would be high on my list after LK, but really don't know much about him, style of play, recruiting, etc.
We have no idea what objective criteria was used to pick the last 4 coaches. It wasnt a system i outlined. We were bullied into bad choices when our #1/2 failed to materialize. No leader is going to allow a committee to assemble an organization for him to do what? Give a pregame speech? Credit for sharing a novel vision/delusion
Perhaps I should have said he is an interesting option. It's all relative. I get it, most never heard of him. Most of the guys on that list ain't coming or I flat don't want. Look at his record, where he has won and look at the available options after Kiffin. Who else you got?????? More Naps???
CFB these days is operating much more like the pros than an amateur league. Front office GMs, salary caps, free agency portals, money negotiations etc. How is that any different from what Gruden, or any HC in the NFL deals with? I would almost be more concerned with getting a life long college coach who hasn't adapted to what CFB has become. We seen what happens when they're not accustomed to the players being no more than mercenaries for hire.
Gator Nation needs to brace itself for the very real possibility that we may likely lose a recruiting class as well as some of the current players hitting the TP. And who could fault the players, since they came here for a certain coach. But, in the long-run, we must enter the unknown to get where we need to be!
And Ole Miss will offer any amount Florida will pony up. So, this will be about does Lane want a better pipeline to south Florida! I expect Lane will choose Florida, but it will likely reach an unfathomable amount of money! Florida has to decide if they're serious about Natty's, because that's the reason "he will come."
Gruden rumors circulate every year, and Gruden is not a proven commodity in the CFB world as Lane. I will liken Gruden to Lane to going after the questionable past to going after the best in the current field of athletics. I can't believe anyone would even mention Gruden. He was at the Raiders, and how did that go?
Now that's funny right there, but it needs to happen! I say that figuratively, of course, because the UAA needs to allow Kiffen free rein, if they really want him. I have heard unsubstantiated rumors that those at the top have not fully bought in to the NIL (and it's believeable). Ole Miss is already there, so to entice Lane, Florida will have to be all in on NIL. We are about to see how serious Florida is about the football program!
Totally agree! Or, we can do the safe thing: keep Billy, save $27 million, and save the recruiting class! I am being facetious, of course! After the losses this year, we are going to lose some recruits, as well as current players to the TP anyway!
Meyer has dealt with the front office, and he said they could offer him an open checkbook and he wouldn't come! OMG, can we end the bring Urban back posts!
