Virtually every Mechanical Engineering professor I had at UF had at least 1 degree from Purdue. I thought about going to Purdue for grad school.
All good. Was watching my boys soccer game. That’s more important. Had no idea we were even close to 136
True, but thus far this year has been pretty illuminating. Billy couldn't dream of beating more talented opponents like Cignetti does.
Maybe Cignetti is good and maybe he's another in a long line that have some early success and then flame out. Regardless, to imply that he isn't an "unproven Sun Belt coach" is silly. Billy not relevant.
Yes, and so was the Mizzou coach and at least last year most thought he was better than Billy. (Actually they still do- including me.) But nothing on the field (that I know of) suggests CBN is better than Cignetti.
Several cast members of the Porky’s trilogy are from my Alma Mater Ohio University (THE state’s first university). If you know anything about Ohio U. and especially the Halloween festivities this should be shocking to no one.
There is nothing strong about IU's year to date schedule. Nebraska (#58 FPI) is coming off 7 straight losing seasons. I give him credit, he's done what he's supposed to do and win those games but I think he's been fortunate with his schedule. Cignetti's current team is loaded with transfers. 17 of his 22 starters are transfers. Will be interesting to see how he fares recruiting against Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State.
I can't say I understand this as a critique. An observation, yes. But Indiana isn't supposed to win these games. They're Indiana. No matter how "poor" their schedule is, it's basically what it always is and they perform poorly with it. Until now. OSU, Michigan, and Penn State will definitely be a huge step up in competition and there's no telling how they'll do. But by any reasonable expectation they've way overperformed so far and done exceptionally--even historically--well against a schedule that's comparable to all of their other losing seasons. As far as transfers are concerned, the FSU debacle has hopefully made people cautious about building through the portal alone, but it's 2024 and if you don't have a significant number of portal starters, you're not trying. And I'd think that any new coaching hire these days will come with an expectation of bringing in portal talent to help with the transition. So this still seems more like observation than critique.
If we can't land a whale then we just continue reachin'. How do you land a whale? I guess you need a great whale catcher with a boatload of money.
