Interesting, I just read an article that they want Urban to come home. Sounds familiar. Common denominator seems to be Day's seat is getting warm which is bizarre considering he's never lost more than 2 games in a season. He would have plenty of suitors.
I hope they end up like Nebraska and spend the next decade or two longing for 2 loss seasons after firing a winning coach.
At this point I'm not concerned about age or recruiting ties. The program needs an attitude change in the worst way and NIL and portal can facilitate roster moves. I'd take a solid 5 to 10 years from a no nonsense leader just to reestablish what florida should be. Ideally I'd like to see a young guy be our 15 to 20 year success like some other programs have enjoyed but I don't know if klieman or the other young prospects even want that kind of longevity at one school. Seems like if you go with a young guy you have to worry about the NFL itch so 6 in one hand a half dozen in the other. Give me the old guy proven winner.
At UF it has be character also. And Lane does not measure up there. It is the total image of the school that matters to the Board of Trustees. No winning at all costs. Winning with character while emphasizing academics also. It is all about having the perfect school. The best possible school.
Change for the sake of change is not going to. Yeah, we’re pissed but we need to make a good hire. I hope he’s outvthere
I don’t think you are going to see long coaching stretches like that. Hell UF’s longest stretch was HBC.
That's my point. Those who are whining about players and coaches making too much money do not understand the money involved. It is just this ignorant "why should they make that much ". My answer is because the people making the money understand the economics. So far, nobody has gone broke paying too much. Even poorly run programs like fsu
I thought about using him as my silly example, but then I started talking myself into it. Titans were dumb to fire him. Saleh sounded like a much more absurd option.
NC State is not giving me to drive all the way over there anyway. If you’re gonna go out of conference schedule something better.
He wasn’t the primary problem, but he was high on the list. Detailed report by IAKW speaking on how he allowed Knox to determine the RB rotation when it was clear that Pierce should have been RB1 getting the lionshare of the carries as oppose to splittin it with Malik and Nayquan. His stubbornness with EJ over AR although I CAAAAN see why he wanted to milk EJ as much as he could until he couldn’t. Inability to part ways with Hev and Grantham when it was clear they were underperforming, as was CRob. His inability to embrace going all in with being a recruiter (as with Hev) which left us DEPLETED of top end talent on the OL and DL (David Turner wasn’t good either) Lastly how he embarrassed the program with how he treated the Sugar Bowl against OU and just blew it off as if he knew he’d be out the door to the NFL. He’s a great cook with other people ingredients but make him buy his own and cook and he’s going to keep you on a hamster wheel
