Who’s the bacon in the reaction panel? That you Billy? They’ve convinced me. You can’t handle it.. Sorry not sorry. Divorce and you can only keep half the money. Ok. 60%. And Scott too for the coaching BS and the obscene ridiculous buyout. Who does that? Ugh.

Honest question. If UF does not fire him, then why should he think they aren't satisfied with his result, and thus why should he resign?

Every day that he remains head coach is a stamp of approval.

I don't blame guys for taking every penny of a contract that they signed in good faith.

He isnt mailing it in. The players are still fighting and playing hard for him. So I dont think its fraudulent on his part. He just isn't capable.

Word is, the buyout is already covered by boosters. Has been since the aTm game.

So its on UF to do what's right. Billy's job is to prep for Kentucky. Quitting Isn't in his DNA, nor should it be.

This is probably the single biggest problem with Billy. He thinks he's the smartest guy in the room and he keeps it that way. He won't hire coaches that are smarter than him , that's a huge handicap. So we end up with a coaching staff of young pups or has-beens. No offense to any particular coach, but they are no threat to overshadow Billy.

I'm sure someone here as documented all the Billy Napier coaching blunders over the past 3 seasons, but I've never seen a coach lose games like he does. It's actually shocking.

Given how urban prioritized special teams, the 12 men on the field penalty can't be tolerated.

tell me one thing honestly That billy is good at?
he's not a good head coach.
he's not a good offensive coordinator
he's not a good special teams coach
he doesn't win the press conference

the time is now -- we can't constantly have a coach costing us 3 to 10 points every game.

It was freedom gator. Not sure what he disagreed with since he didn't quote and comment.

But to whomever and to Tilly who asked good questions of this post...
When the contract was signed all parties thought he could do this job- which is to compete in the SEC.

But 2 1/2 years in its clear he can't compete at this level. (By almost every conceivable measure.)
It's not about effort- its about ability.
He's been here and earned the money his first years- I'm not asking for a refund.

But future money- money that he didn't earn...
Yes- I think he should leave and agree to a % of the buyout (say 50%.)
It is the honorable thing- not the legal thing.

For those who think no coach would ever do that- actually Spurrier did when he left the Redskins.
He could have mailed it in and let them fire him and taken a nice buyout. (Not $25M, but something.)
But he left with I believe nothing because it wasn't working.

Any comparisons of Billy Napier, or just about anyone else I can think of, to Steve Orr Spurrier is odious. Steve Spurrier has lived a life that demonstrates the nature of accepting a harder right over an easier wrong, and of principled pursuit of honorable behavior. It made him a legend, but there are damn few such legends in sports today.

Yeah, Spurrier walked on the Skins, most likely because he has always been a winner, and I am sure getting fired was not winning in his eyes. He also walked on USCe without taking any buyout, I believe. But he has always been a unique individual.

Napier won't just walk imo, but he might agree to some reduction in the buyout. Unless he is totally delusional, he has to realize that the odds of him getting another major head coaching job are slim to none, and he doesn't call a good offense, so going back to being an offensive coordinator somewhere is probably off the table also. He'll want the money.

Billy lacks fiercely as a game time coach, motivator, public speaker... a lot of things.

But he put a damn good group of players in the locker locker room. Good players, good character kids...

There are some serious redeeming characteristics to him, so I respectfully disagree with the notion that he lacks at everything.

If they’ve already made the decision to fire him—and I cannot imagine a scenario anymore where he comes back—I don’t see the need to do it now. The team is obviously playing hard for him, so why not let him stay on at this point until the end of the season, for the players’ sake. I thought the timing after A&M would have been ripe (assuming we could have brought in a marquise guy immediately), but since they let him stay on (or giving the Administration the unearned benefit of the doubt—the marquise guy said “no”), at this point the timing now doesn’t give us any real tangible advantage, it only disrupts the players.

South Carolina seems to lose games like this, too. I was on Columbia this weekend' at high their game with a bunch of their fans, and they have eerily similar criticism of Shane Beemer.

I realize this is a sticky situation made worse by the portal and the playoffs system so I have no opinion on when is best to fire him. I will say that given the apparent ability of the defense to step up and look like an even adequate defense the past 2 weeks it would be interesting to see the results of getting a competent play caller and game manager because Saturday showed that it took an anomaly of errors (anomaly for most not names Napier) to lose that game. I mean if they had fired him after aTm and we presumably won the 3 following games like we should have it could have saved some talent and recruiting going forward.

I’ll be honest. I am absolutely stunned at the defensive turnaround after the break. Kudos to whatever they did to fix that atrocity. Unfortunately, they didn’t “fix” atrocious gameday coaching and game management.

ha, yea, i was at bama - south carolina game -- bama did everything they could to give that game away, and beamer still couldn't pull it off. Beamer Jr wins 2 games to start the season the struggles against SEC teams --
napier would be a great coach for the cocks to be honest......

Imagine a Florida head coach posting stuff about Texas, notre dame, Bama etc during the season and thinking it's ok. The dude is trolling and if he isn't is that what you want as a head coach? Gator fans are more and more like hooters customers at this point believing the girl is interested in them....
