Buttigieg slams DeSantis over LGBTQ-focused ad

There are examples where both the left and the right have gone too far. This ad by DeSantis is an example of the right going too far. Teaching gender dysphoria as normalcy to 5 to 8 year olds is an example of the left going too far. DeSantis, as @rivergator stated, had some winners at the outset. That's the real tragedy here. He had built up so much capital. There was the Disney thing, which I didn't like and said so at the time, but overall, his underlying message seemed to be "we're pushing back on woke run amuck." This last ad though is just pure unabashed bigotry. I'm guaranteeing you some people have already lost their jobs over this ad. DeSantis was a formidable opponent, but this changed all of that.

 

MAGA does not and never has had a culture war agenda. Trump is a guy who once scolded Ted Cruz in a GOP debate that "Planned Parenthood does some wonderful things." This is probably the biggest reason Trump maintains such high level of support among GOP voters, because most GOP voters don't feel good about the constant culture warring. There are areas to push back, but to create conflict for the sake of creating conflict is something most conservatives these days aren't okay with.
