Whoa Sparky, grab a clue. What I described is pretty much what goes on during the “festival” and you are naive to think the festival is anything more than a big party.

But if you want to follow their 10 principles and think that is what actually occurs out in the desert, have at it. But to do so, you will have to overlook the complete mess that this year’s partygoers left behind. By looking at the pictures, the principles of “civic responsibility” and “leaving no trace” were definitely not followed. But hey, I’m sure the drugs were great and despite the rain, a great time was had by all.

Well it is a festival and folks are celebrating.

I tend to agree with much of your take though I have no problems with folks heading out to the desert and letting the freak flags fly. To each his/her own.

Even if I have zero interest in going myself, the spectacle of it all draws me in. Same time, the dissonance between principles and reality seems to grow larger by the year.
