It’s not really bulletin board material. More like bullet point material for the practice schedule.

Step one in pressing is to make a shot.

Vandy isn't too good at that.

Vandy will be echausted if they did it for 40 mimutes. We will run them out the gym if we break it a few times early.

Fair enough as we have not been great against the press, but lets not get carried away with this Stackhouse. Clayton was shaky but the worst of it was late in the game during garbage time when we have our 3rd/4th string PG in the game. I doubt going forward this strategy will be as effective. I would be more concerned about holding on to that job of yours, Jerry.

First, most of that success was against our 2nd string.
Second, there is a reason teams don’t do it all the time against us. It takes a ton of effort and is hard to sustain.
Third, the problem is when we do break it easily it’s an easy bucket.

I hope they do it in Nashville.

Gotta get our bigs involved in breaking the press. Clayton is too small to pass over the press and pullin too slow to dribble thru. Active bigs catching and turning will have room.

you mean with backup guards in there and 90 seconds left up 19? Yeah that sounds like a reasonable sample.

    Yes definitely bulletin board material

agree, to me all the best press breaks involving passing more than trying to dribble your way out of it. Still, with Pullin in there instead of a guy who hasn't seen the floor in a dozen games I like our chances

Sometimes we've had the wrong guy inbounding the ball, getting it to a guy next to the sideline. When that happened with Kublickas, he was toast.
Not knocking him, by the way; I saw some exciting skills from him early in the season against scrub teams. I expect him to improve a lot by next season.
