He tries to get good players in recruiting. He knows the NCAA won’t do much, he has always pushed the envelope, along with Sean Miller, Bll Self, Roy Williams, Mike Kryzevke, Calipari. You either push the envelope with the agents doing the steering or you slip into obscurity. Billy D hated it and he was as good as anybody recruiting. We all hate it. But it is reality. The NCAA, The SEC members all look the other way as the rogue programs continue to push every button they can to get top flight players. We can only bitch as LSU, Alabama, Kentucky, Arkansas, Tennessee pick off the best and we have to look at the portal at everybody’s castoffs. We. Need to get the Florida Legislature to make the laws fair for all schools, we have to go to the NCAA and lobby to get stronger recruiting restrictions for schools pushing the enevelope, the NIL in other states is a joke, the SEC also. To sit back and wait for the smoke to clear is pushing us to the bottom in all major sports. Bitch at our administration, AD,and other that sit at home and enjoy great salaries and benefits and don’t deliver. Even go to Washington to get the nut jobs there to make NIL laws the same for everyone and enforce it. hate Pearl if you want, he is a great coach on court and his players run through walls for him. We should have gone after him but we are holier than thou and feed on anybody even remotely involved with breaking rules. So please direct your frustrations to the right people, our administration, Pearl is trying to survive in shark infested waters. Wolken lives in that insulated bubble that praises the Caliparis, Self, Millers and others on game night but doesn’t ever talk about dirty recruiting from the so called blue bloods, you can’t have it both ways!
I do like Pearl a lot more than coaches who think their sh!+ don't stink like Roy Williams, who was actively doing everything he publicly accused Billy D of doing.
Pearl is a likeable guy. He has a Chris Farley-esqu appeal. Problem is, Farley didnt cheat to get his rolls on SNL and movies to the point of harming his peers. I honestly root for him to lose every game, while still not hating his face like I do the Wade's of the world.
I love the guy. He’s great for the sport and is hilarious. Don’t care what people think. “Wes Chandler was Percy Harvin before Percy Harvin was born.”
