If I remember correctly Gatorpa was one of the last and most vociferous of the Mullen defenders. He seems to take every chance he can to pot shot Napier.

He was. Then disappeared when Mullen got canned and now he’s back to spew any negativity he can cling on to.

I would say the only persons “Thrilled” about this turn of events are Gator Haters. As far as hoping that Napier can instill discipline into this team, I’m guilty as charged.

Wasn’t he a freshman back then? Kid could have grown up as I never heard one negative thing about him up until now

He made some questionable social media comments early this season, including complaining about not getting the credit he deserved, etc. I never heard of him getting in trouble or anything like that though.

Ehh that’s minor stuff though. I’ll miss him. Best pass rusher on the team. Hopefully we got someone ready to step into the void

Come on, the problem with Cox was a me problem. He had incredible talent but appeared to very narcissistic (if you wish to talk privately, I will communicate more explicitly). And, admittedly, narcissism is quite common for his generation. Couple that with his all-world talent and common sense tells you the rest. At the beginning of the season, I disliked his "I'm going to break the single-season sack record!" There's nothing wrong with having goals, the problem is I am going to do it. As well, his hate for Georgia was very personal. He wanted to go out on top. Again, nothing wrong with wanting to win, but the sign of a mature athlete is to be able to handle all adversity--including losing. Cox hints at himself being the problem, as he admitted being "too competitive." However, he doesn't take any ownership for acting out in front of the team when he says that "my competitiveness was misunderstood." As a senior, with an extra year of eligibility, Cox should have been setting an example for his peers instead of being a team disruption and distraction. And shame on those posters who want to blame the coaching staff for a "me-me" personality. It sort of causes me to wonder if maybe they're in Cox's camp. AKA, you have a "me" problem too!

Or Cox is smart enough to not be a jerk on a public post.
Let’s say he did post some negative crap about the situation, the haters then are gonna say see look at what a jerk, yeah Billy great job for tossing a cancer.

Cox wants to play on Sunday, he may want to transfer acting like an ass doesn’t help that goal.

Didn’t disappear, it was the off-season. I’m on too hot all the time.

I’m critical of decisions of Napier.

I’m also critical of fans who just rah rah when there is very little track record to be rah rah over.
I find it very puzzling to be so all in and so convinced that because “a dude coached under Saban and has some magic formula” we are headed back to the top.
I’ve asked many times what is it that gives the Napier fan boys such confidence that he knows what he’s doing?
    Crickets.
He turned around a non power 5 school, wow.
    Mac did the same.

I’ve never said he should be fired.

It’s like your either for or against.
There’s no real discussion about pros and cons.

Sorry my criticism of specifics is bothersome and I’m not all a twitter over a coach that 2/3’s of the fans here had never even heard of. Who really doesn’t have that impressive of a resume and other talking a good game hasn’t done much yet.

Yep I didn’t think Mullen should have been canned.
Not alone in that opinion. I thought he kept Grantham too long.
I didn’t really care that he was aloof, he had the offense humming in no time, but the powers that be felt like he needed to go. Some people never wanted him back here and hated him from the start.

We are one more HBC from being texas or UT (if we aren’t there yet).

Actually I graduated from UF in 1998 from the first PA masters class . Not that that has anything to do with the subject at hand.

Its a typical cycle of a message board. People want to believe, so they do until too much evidence piles up that Coach X isn't up to the task. I still recall how giddy most on here were in Muschamp's second year despite a few posters worries about the pedestrian offense and the playing down to the opponents level. Hopefully this guy will be the magic tonic the Gators need, because continually cycling through coaches is not good for this program.
