A correction to my previous post where I incorrectly speculated she would not be primaried. The Republican primary congressional field for district 4 has 6 other candidates.

Lauren Boebert, Far-Right Firebrand, Is Switching House Districts in Colorado

"An earlier analysis by the Cook Political Report had rated the race for Ms. Boebert’s current seat in 2024 as a tossup. By contrast, the race in the general election in the Fourth Congressional District is not considered competitive.

"The other Republicans running in the primary to replace Mr. Buck include two former state senators, Ted Harvey and Jerry Sonnenberg; Richard Holtorf, a state representative; Trent Leisy, a Navy veteran and business owner; and Deborah Flora, a radio host.

"Mr. Leisy asserted on social media soon after Ms. Boebert’s announcement that she was giving Democrats an advantage in the race for her current district by making the switch.

“'Lauren should be a fighter and keep her district red,” Mr. Leisy said, adding that he was “running in a district that I actually live in.'”

    Lowrent Gropebert = hilarious!

I'm also in the 3rd District of Colorado and cannot wait until Boobert is no longer my representative.
Unfortunately, she stands a good chance for the 4th District comprised of slow farmer and rancher Pubs.

With a name like Lowrent Gropebert I must donate to her campaign.
Y’all are all easily duped by the complicity of the two party’s in control.

Do any of the challengers stand a decent chance against her in the primary? Would any of them be better? Leisy sounds like an extreme whackjob.

Lauren Boebert is reported to have punched ex- husband Jayson Boebert in the face last night (Saturday, January 6) in a restaurant in Silt, Colorado the small town where the two once shared a home together with their sons. Police were summoned to the scene after Jayson Boebert called them to report the incident. No arrests were made and Boebert declined to press charges against his ex wife after claiming he was the victim of "domestic violence."

Ms Lowrent Gropebert denies she punched her ex in the face several times.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/01/07/lauren-boebert-ex-husband/

"Police Chief Mike Kite told The Washington Post that police responded to a call made from Miner’s Claim restaurant, which is in Lauren Boebert’s home district, and said the incident is under investigation. He declined to comment further, saying police are reviewing surveillance tape and talking to possible witnesses.

"The Daily Beast first reported on the fight. According to the news site, Jayson Boebert called the police after meeting with the congresswoman at the restaurant and claimed that he was a 'victim of domestic violence.' Jayson Boebert told the Daily Beast that Lauren Boebert had 'punched' him in the face several times.

"In a statement to The Post, Lauren Boebert denied her ex-husband’s claims and said the incident is another reason she will be moving away from her district.

"'This is a sad situation for all that keeps escalating and another reason why I’m moving,' she said. 'I didn’t punch Jayson in the face and no one was arrested. I will be consulting with my lawyer about the false claims he made against me and evaluate all of my legal options'"

There are presently 9 Republican contenders running in the Congressional District 4 primary. I don't know much about them, but there has been some grumbling about her switching districts solely to improve her chances after her near defeat in 2022 at the hands of Adam Frisch, a wealthy Democrat from Aspen who lost by only 540 votes or so. Frisch is a moderate who sides with conservatives on a number of local issues. He voted against releasing wolves back into Colorado, an issue that was decided by votes of residents east of the Rockies. Frisch has said he thinks issues only affecting Western Colorado should not be decided by votes of people living east of the Eisenhower Tunnel on I-70.

Mike Lynch, Republican state House minority leader is the most recently announced candidate for the District 4 seat. Some think he has a leg up.
Republicans say their numbers are down but don’t count them out this legislative session

A unexpected turn in the ongoing battle between the Boebert's. Jayson Boebert was arrested late Tuesday night with charges including misdemeanor assault and criminal mischief.

It's a set up, a plot point, that gives her an excuse for changing districts.

The criminal mischief charge isn't consistent with any of the reporting I've seen from the Miners' Claim incident.

I’m no LB fam. I think she is an idiot, but she was fairly elected in her District as their representative in congress. Same for MTG. But it’s not my district and as I disagree with others i respect local elections primarily as they are the closest to home and true representation of constituents.

Certainly the results of elections need to be respected. In cases like Boebert’s, the results still beg to be explained. Why would a district support her? I

can’t help but see these results, and most elections, though the results of a tribe. Somehow we come identify these candidates as our people. I think we might do better to try to view them as caretakers of our people. What do we do when your elderly father’s caretaker misbehaves, ignoring his needs? We don’t back the caretaker. You explain the expectations and try again, or just plain fire them. We don’t identify with the caretaker and justify their behavior by saying our dad didn’t really need his medicine that day.

we have allowed a representative republic to morph into anything but. The system was designed for differences, not for some homogenous society where population centers control every thought and action. If her district elects her then it is her duty to represent them regardless of what someone in Texas or NY or Georgia thinks.
