My girls dig my Top Petty shirt fwiw... Lol.
My younger daughters bestie walked has a Journey tshirt. They couldnt quote you two lines of a Journey song. My 17 year old (African American) nephew wanted a Nirvana T for Christmas. To be "ironic" lol.

    Everything old is new again.

Synthesisers are sorta back in some of their music too.

    I can only chuckle.

I think the poster you were responding to was pointing out Boebert's (and other conservatives) hypocrisy on family values. Either way, you certainly don't need the traditional 2 parent household (and church) to raise good kids.

I recall a 60 minutes years ago where a brain scientist of some sort recognized that psychopaths' brains are all physcally wired in the same way - a different way than non psycopaths' brains. His study determined that a significant percentage of brains are constructed this way. Shocked, he did a CAT scan on himself and was learned he had a psychopathic brain himself. He then proposed a hypothesis that a psychopath brain doesn't always lead to pscychopath behavior. He suggested that nurter can overcome nature; A loving, caring upbringing that embeds the golden rule can overcome the physical abnormality and make a functioning citizen.

I looked for it briefly, but couldn't find it. It was interesting.

My son is 14. He doesn't have the feathered hair or neon short shorts. However, he showed me a picture of the Air Jordans he wanted and they were the old school design. I told him that 5 years ago if a teenager wore those he would have been made fun of for wearing old man shoes.

Agree with that. I think people are born with certain predispositions, but that doesn't mean people will turn out a certain way, it just makes it more likely.

I wasn’t demeaning conservative or traditional family values but was merely pointing out the hypocrisy of people like Boebert and Palin spouting family values nonsense and constantly insinuating that liberals don’t have good family values. Heck, you see this stated in this forum constantly by several conservative posters. What children need are “good” family values regardless of whether their parents are liberal or conservative.

Boebert is not being well received in her new district. I predict she drops outs unless the grifting is too lucrative.

Didn’t she finish 5th out of 9 Repub primary candidates in a straw poll? That’s not good.

Need? Maybe not to a certain degree, but statistics tell is good kids are harder to come by without two loving parents... And it ain't the kids faults.

That seems to cover both nurture and nature angles. Both are of extreme import.

Not even charged is good to know. When folks tell me they haven’t been convicted is when I have to start wondering about them…

Disagree. The AJs are acceptable. It’s the New Balances that are true old man shoes. Mine are under the dresser but I’ll have them on Friday when I don’t go to work. (;)
