That deputy has a history. Warnings for being too aggressive and then fired from another department.

Georgia deputy who shot exonerated Florida man was fired in 2017 for using unnecessary force during traffic stop

I know telling this will come back to bite me. If not immediately there is no doubt it will be used against me someday me being the regular "obey the cops and things will be OK" guy. But this actually happened to my youngest son last week. It doesn't change my way of thinking one bit about 99% of these stories.

My youngest son David works for Ecolab. One night last week he was supposed to treat a restaurant in Winter Springs. Obviously when they treat restaurants it is usually after hours. They are given a key and an alarm code for the security system and the OK to enter. The alarm code he was given didn't work so he called the alarm company and was told to go ahead and enter and they would take care of it. A little while later he went out the door to get some more chemicals and when he stepped out he heard "Get your hands up and don't move". He had earbuds blasting music in his ears and before putting his hands up he took them out to put them in his shirt pocket. Before he knew it he was face down on the concrete with his hands cuffed behind his back with 7 military style rifles pointed at him. As they picked him up he asked "Can't you guys see there is one vehicle in front of the restaurant with Ecolab painted all over it and I am wearing an Ecolab shirt?". After checking it out they turned him loose to finish his job.

I don't know if he ever did but he told me last weekend that on Monday he was going in to talk to the Winter Springs PD Chief and the security company supervisor about it.
None of the stories in which I have defended the cops quite had the obvious innocence of David's story but I will say in the rare occasions where there was no guilt and no fighting back by the person I did not defend the police. I understand David was very close to being shot if one thing had gone wrong, thankfully he didn't struggle.

    Glad he’s good.

And I never miss a chance to call out Killbots.

But in this case (OP), I have no beef with the officer. He gave a legit chance, and then was legit attacked. Once there, I can’t find fault in his actions. Sorry a person died, but this wasn’t Killbot territory.

As for your son, IMO that was over the top. Nothing actionable, but come on. I agree with your son. Doing Too Much bruvs.

I told my employees the customer is not always right, but we always remined respectful until they became rude. I told them when that happens just say I'm done here since you can't be respectful, they would just walk away and then I would get involved

I’ve been pulled over doing 90 and my experience was nothing like that. Officer was polite and professional. I never had to get out of my car. Does 10 mph change that? Was it cuz I’m white? Is that cop just a prick?

Attacking the cop was the escalation point resulting in death but the cop started off like a maniac from the beginning.
