Bob Huggins just ended his career with two words.

I'm not sure that's enough to get fired at WVU. Sure seems like it but the whole Alabama hoops chain of events cast shade on transgressions to get fired. He's not in jail, right?

 

He’s an alum who was born in a Morgantown and the only thing worth anything on that campus.
Will take some big ones to fire him.

I have never liked Huggins but his comments are being blown way out of proportion, imo. Whatever...

Yeah, I tend to agree. We've all said things in joking or in the heat of the moment we're not proud of. Anyone that claims otherwise is a liar. Or mute.

I really dont see the "big deal" in all of this. Yes, it was rude to say what he said. But people get too "offended" by comments that are rude. $1,000,000 is 24% of his salary, that is a big hit as well as 3 games. Yes, he's left making $3.2 M but so what. It's not the amount he is left with, it is the 24% that matters.

Today, Spurrier would have been cancelled for his comments about the cars in the fsu parking lot, the late hits by Dockett et al, free shoes u, etc. All of that would be called racist.

 

I'm all for society having a thicker skin but you can't have the leader of school/team alienate 2 demographics like that and compare it to Spurrier ribbing other programs. Not in the same ballpark.

It's west Virginia. I don't care either way especially since Huggins has been known to be a scummy coach all along anyway.
