That was my immediate thought when I listened to that. He's calling a great majority of Gator fans ignorant country hicks living in their mommies basement. It just feeds into the typical Florida man mentality a lot of our rivals and haters have.

I'd have to think that the majority of donors who are upset with the progress are not country bumpkins living with their mommy and should Gator Nation should get riled up about this comment.

 

Agree, but we got almost no pressure with a 4 man rush. Period. And when we did get pressure on the QB, our numbskull players smacked into him late and got penalized leading to Miami scores. You watched the game and saw this, right?

Honestly, we were better off rushing three and dropping the rest into coverage. As sad as that is, that is who we are.

 

We actually struggled more in the passing game when they did not blitz too. Does that mean our receivers were not running good routes? How do we fix that?

I saw the boneheaded defensive penalties. The two late hits (roughing the QB) were totally avoidable and infuriating.

 

No matter all the different things he says, he's in year 3 and he is ultimately responsible for the issues. The buck stops with him, and I would rather he own it instead of deflect it. Blaming the fans (even those from rural, central Florida) is insulting. The fans came to that game with incredible energy, and he sapped it away with that pitiful performance. Its not just a loss, its that we played so poorly, everyone can see we did not improve in any area other than ST and thats from a team with a losing record last year. I'm sure we will crush Samford and he will think and claim everything is good now (until we lose again to any decent team we play).

 

The “rural central Florida” comment was such an asinine thing to say. Wonder how the Lakeland folks took that? You know, the place of one of the most successful high school programs in the state is located.

 

Well, I hate to see our team treated so poorly as to have a HC who is so inept. They deserve better. It took the game then the post game for so many of us to realize he's not coaching with a full deck.

 

Do they do a Wednesday presser or is that a call in?
