They have known about the allegations since July. They cut him after it went public and there was a backlash. Pretty much typical NFL.

The weird thing is they did it for a punter. The NFL recycles kickers like underwear and they chose to hold onto him until there was public outcry? This was as low-hanging fruit as possible for them and they still bungled it.

Why is it low hanging fruit when no one has yet been charged criminally with rape or sexual assault?

The LA Times ran an article in July that didn’t identify players, and the woman filed a civil suit on Thursday in which Ariaza was identified, and he was cut within 48 hours.

the bills were aware of his potential involvement in July.

Bills 'made aware' of Matt Araiza rape allegations 'last month'

The Bills admitted that knew about the allegations against him in July, not 48 hours ago. Further, they even went so far as to cut their veteran punter on Monday to make this guy their starter. They’re idiots.

In a court of law? No. For employment?! Potentially, yes. Most couldn’t get a corp job if there is ongoing national news they were involved in a gang-rape of a minor and with the evidence already public for this case. Especially if it’s a business that heavily values public perception how it treats women. And Nfl has a decent percentage of women customers/viewers. But, it does appear these decisions are influenced on how good the player is.

Very talented punter. Just saying lol. Maybe they were hoping the facts would change before it went public? Dunno.

This is 2022, all that is needed to end someone's career are allegations. Been like this for the most part of the 21st Century.

Yep. If he's found not guilty here the accuser should be liable for his expected career salary.
