I can't find the post. Maybe you didn't make it. But I do remember somebody suggesting it. Maybe the post was deleted?

Regardless, how can Israel win this war and kill all the terrorists when every other war between these same peoples have resulted in not winning the war and killing all the terrorists? What makes now different than all the other conflicts in the past?

If you think this question doesn't deserve discussion, then why study history at all? If it doesn't matter, as you say, because there would be no reason to learn from the past because.....it doesn't matter???

The conflicts between Jews and Arabs long predates the modern state of Israel. It's going to keep going on until one of two things happen. Total destruction of one or both sides. Or leaders on both sides realize the insanity of doing the same things over and over again and believing the next time the results will be different. Because they won't be different. History has taught us this. Even if you aren't willing to discuss it, the truth is, Israel will never be able to defeat Hamas. And as long as the Palestinians are willing to hate Israeli children more than they love their own, the situation in the ME will be more wash, rinse, repeat.

And if this is the case for the foreseeable future, I don't mind if we give aid and weapons to help Israel defend herself. Again, I have family that live in Israel. But at the same time, I don't want American monies or weapons going to kill Palestinian civilians. That only guarantees the wash, rinse, repeat cycle, and silly me believes that maybe, one day, there might be actual peace in the region? It's not going to happen with a military victory. It will only happen if and only if leaders from both sides rise up and demand peace. How's dropping large bombs on the city where Israel first told refugees to flee going to help? Or, is this another question you'd rather dodge versus answer?

U.S. intelligence officer Major Harrison Mann resigns over Gaza.

    From article:

Mann said he felt shame and guilt for helping advance U.S. policy that he said contributed to the mass killing of Palestinians.

"At some point — whatever the justification — you're either advancing a policy that enables the mass starvation of children, or you're not," Mann wrote.

Biden cuts off arms shipments and continues to meddle in Israeli government affairs:

Netanyahu Rejects U.S. Calls for Postwar Plan in Gaza (msn.com)

For days, senior Biden administration officials have pressured Israel to plan for postwar Gaza as the long-anticipated Rafah offensive gets under way. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu finally delivered his response: Not so fast.

On Wednesday, Netanyahu rejected the U.S. demands, arguing that it would be “just chatter” while Hamas remains intact.

“There is no alternative to military victory,” Netanyahu said in a video released by his office. “The attempt to bypass it with this or that claim is simply detached from reality.”

Netanyahu once again rebukes Biden for not wanting a military end of the war and for pushing a peace that Israel will not accept after the war.

Biden has meddled with 2 on Israel's war cabinet to the degree that the internal powers in Israel will likely have to replace the insubordinate war cabinet members if they continue to undercut Israel's war effort.

Netanyahu continues to be the voice of reason in the middle of war. Biden is just an angry meddling old wind bag as he can't be both dictator of the US and Israel.

Biden isn't the only one who has crticized Netanyahu for his failure to have a postwar plan for Gaza.
Israel's defence minister attacks Netanyahu over Gaza future
Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant has voiced open frustration at the government’s failure to address the question of a post-war plan for Gaza. In a rare public sign of divisions over the direction of the military campaign within Israel’s war cabinet, Mr Gallant urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to declare publicly that Israel has no plans to take over civilian and military rule in Gaza.Since October, I have been raising this issue consistently in the Cabinet,” he said, “and have received no response.”
IDF Chief said to upbraid Netanyahu for failing to layout post-war plan for Gaza
IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi tore into Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during security consultations over the weekend for failing to develop and announce a so-called “day after” strategy for who will rule Gaza after the war, according to a Saturday evening Hebrew news report. “We are now operating once again in Jabaliya. As long as there’s no diplomatic process to develop a governing body in the Strip that isn’t Hamas, we’ll have to launch campaigns again and again in other places to dismantle Hamas’s infrastructure,” Halevi was quoted by Channel 13 as saying. “It will be a Sisyphean task.”

Thanks for posting what I couldn't without violating board rules for paragraphs allowed. These are the 2 officials I mentioned above who are now on the hot seat with the majority in Israel, good men led astray by Biden.

Actually a majority of Israelis are concerned with the possibility of a protracted war in Gaza. Keep in mind that the IDF relies on reservist much more so than almost any military in the world. In addition to the direct consequences of a war, an extended war could seriously impact the Israeli economy. Although the focus of the news has been on a potential all out assault on Raffah and Palestinian civilian casualties the IDF has to return to parts of Gaza where they supposedly eradicated Hamas fighters months ago. Netanyahu and his far right supporters really not have a strategy for ending the war and ironically like Yahya Sinwar the military leader of Hamas it's to his advantage to extend the war as long as possible regardless of the number of Israeli and Palestinian casualties.
Israel's return to areas of Gaza it were clear of Hamas raises doubts about its military strategy

No, demanding Israel lose the war they are on the doorstep of winning is stupid.

I think Israel should look ahead to a peace plan, but not on the terms Biden is demanding. Again, Biden meddling has interfered with what should be a natural ongoing process.

Churchill, Roosevelt, and Stalin met in Tehran for 4 days in late November/early December1943 to map out a plan to win the war and how to administer the peace. It was historic and the beginning of the end for Germany and winning WWII.

How the WWII Tehran Conference Tested the Unity of the 'Big Three' Allies | HISTORY

How nice it would be if Biden was as concerned for winning the war instead of focusing on losing the peace. Biden is an historic failure in his conduct with Israel. He will go down in history as an antisemitic president preferring terrorists over Israel.

Biden Claims Executive Privilege Over Robert Hur Recordings:

Biden invokes executive privilege to shield Robert Hur interview tapes from House (aol.com)

Can't let the tapes be public. They would prove Biden is the elderly old windbag Hur claims. Biden can't let his lack of fitness to be president be confirmed.

WASHINGTON – President Joe Biden invoked executive privilege Thursday to keep the recording of his deposition about storing classified documents at his home confidential, as House Republicans set two committee votes to hold Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt for refusing to release the recording.

The Justice Department's Office of Legal Counsel determined the recording falls under executive privilege and Garland shouldn't be punished for following the president's order to keep the recording confidential, according to Carlos Uriarte, an associate attorney general.

The Office of Legal Counsel has long held that executive privilege extends to a "closed criminal investigation where disclosure is likely to damage future law enforcement efforts," Garland wrote to Biden on Wednesday.

Garland provided a complete verbatim transcript of Hur's interview of Biden effectively complying with the subpoena. There is absolutely nothing of substance that could be gained through possession of the tapes themselves. It's nothing more than a political stunt and once again this coming from the same Jim Jordan that openly defied a subpoena from the January 6 Committee and if Jordan wasn't a member of the House himself he would and should be in the same position as Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon.

    LOL.

Now do the guy who stole tons of classified sh*t on his way out of the WH, like he was stealing the sliverware, and then not only refused to return it (claiming Executive Privilege), but enacted a criminal conspiracy to keep it from the proper authorities.

It's very telling which things a person chooses to be outraged about.

The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) and former President Donald Trump are locked in a long running dispute over records taken from the White House in January 2021. According to a NARA May 2022 letter and more recent reporting, the agency went back and forth with Trump’s lawyers about “missing Presidential records” throughout 2021 and well into 2022. In January 2022, Trump transferred 15 boxes of records from Mar-a-Lago to NARA.

It’s an exchange that may now also be relevant to Trump’s asking a federal district court in Florida to appoint a Special Master to filter out documents subject to “executive privilege.”

Does honestly think there is a future out there where Israel is successful killing all 40,000 Hamas? And then creates a lasting peace with the Palestinians where Hamas sympathizers don't reform terror groups? It's wishful thinking at best, and dangerous ignorance at worst. And never going to happen. Would be great if it could happen this way, but it's just not realistic.

Hearing Biden respond is much more powerful than the transcript. I understand why Biden claimed executive privilege.

So, what does Biden have to hide now?

House Republicans on X: "FLASHBACK In February, White House spokesman Ian Sams bragged about Joe Biden not asserting executive privilege during Special Counsel Hur's investigation. "He had nothing to hide." Why is Biden hiding behind Executive Privilege now? https://t.co/UyJlezliv1" / X (twitter.com)

Republicans just want to keep this in the news cycle to distract from Trump's issues. A special counsel was appointed to investigate him, which was overkill given the circumstances but done to avoid any appearance of favoritism toward Biden. The special counsel cleared him, testified before Congress, and the transcript was released. It's time to let it go.

The special counsel did not clear Biden:

Joe Biden Claims ‘Executive Privilege’ to Block Release of Special Counsel Interview Audio (townhall.com)

    As Hur recounted:

In his interview with our office, Mr. Biden's memory was worse. He did not remember when he was vice president, forgetting on the first day of the interview when his term ended ("if it was 2013 - when did I stop being Vice President?"), and forgetting on the second day of the interview when his term began ("in 2009, am I still Vice President?"). He did not remember, even within several years, when his son Beau died. And his memory appeared hazy when describing the Afghanistan debate that was once so important to him. Among other things, he mistakenly said he "had a real difference" of opinion with General Karl Eikenberry, when, in fact, Eikenberry was an ally whom Mr. Biden cited approvingly in his Thanksgiving memo to President Obama.

The conclusion that led Biden to avoid charges for his mishandling of classified documents:
"We have also considered that, at trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory."

You're right - he wasn't cleared because he definitely had the documents. The special counsel concluded that they wouldn't be able to get a conviction.
