The thing no one has really touched on that will likely define Biden’s legacy is how bad his mental decline really was and to what level his Admin went to hide it from the public. I’m sure we are going to start hearing about it from the from some Democrats to explain why Trump was able to win.

I would bet that once Trump is sworn in and all the D's in the current administration start to write their books we will start hearing a lot of stories.

Maybe so but it still doesn't change the fact that Trump's policies during his last year in office set Biden up for failure with the withdrawal. Keep in mind that it wasn't Biden who negotiated directly with the Taliban while denying the then government of Afghanistan with a seat at the table; it wasn't Biden who forced the government of Afghanistan to release 5,000 Taliban prisoners including some of whom were designated as terrorists and number of whom returned to fight against the government of Afghanistan after they were released and that while Biden was also culpable for the same error in judgment it was Trump while he was in office and against the advice of his own generals reduced the number of US troops in Afghanistan below the number necessary for an orderly withdrawal. Also keep in mind that Trump while he was in office agreed to a date certain specifically May 31, 2021 for the withdrawal of all US troops from Afghanistan. Biden changed the date to August 31st.

Wrong the fact is Kamala was the worst candidate to ever run for President. She’s was too liberal. She is a typical grifter. If you run a southern blue dog democrat you win.

Biden could have withdrawn from the deal at any point. He could have also chosen to try and renegotiate the deal. He did not.

Biden was always going to pull out of Afghanistan, whether Trump had made a deal with the Taliban or not. This is something that people really need to accept. This was one of his stated policy goals for a long time. At the end of the day, the disaster happened on his watch and fair or not, a leader is responsible for everything that happens or fails to happen on their watch.

It’s hard to get 10% for the big guy when your power wanes.

thus his desire to remain in office

agreed that he wanted out and likely would ahve done it anyway

should have kept bagram open and used it as the evac point. one of several mistakes but was that Biden or was that inept military leadership? don't see Biden making operational decisions like that

Like the ones we heard from Barr, Kelly, and so many others from the inner circle that NAGA so easily dismisses?

Or the ones yet to emerge about how MAGA covered up djt loss of faculties.

Biden imposed a force cap on the military that McKenzie stated in testimony to Congress required him to make a decision to close Bagram down and pull the troops to Kabul International Airport. McKenzie should have probably told Biden that he would resign if he had to shutdown Bagram but that is not in his nature, so he accepted the risk and carried out the order. It was a combination of bad decision making at the WH by Biden and having the wrong people in place that weren't willing to tell Biden and Sullivan they would not do it.

Is that the cap agreed to in writing by djt or something different?

If we don't draw down in compliance with the agreement, did we have sufficient force to properly defend against Taliban attacks?

It does not matter because Biden could have easily told McKenzie to keep as many troops as needed to keep Bagram open.

The Taliban were not going to try and get into a pitched battle with US troops since Biden had already announced the US withdraw. It was what they were trying to avoid since the US was already doing what they wanted.

I will say that given enough time and space, Biden will be remember for taking out Ayman al Zawahiri, who was really the brains in Al Qaeda. That strike will probably end up being seen as the last operation related to 9/11.

Saying that Biden was bound by Trump's agreement is just making excuses for Biden's disastrous withdrawal and the horrible consequences that followed. Here is a paragraph from an AP article that explains this:

Meh. We had 40+ soldiers die under Trump and I bet you don’t know a single one of their names and if you do you sure don’t post about those friendships so you’ll have to excuse me if I’m not overwhelmed by the convenience of loss.

When there is a terrorist attack against the US if there is a Pub president you guys blame the terrorists…if it’s a Dem president you blame the Dem President. It’s disgusting and gross and I have no patience for it.

Immigration issue is so overblown it’s driven by fear of brown people. There are more men murdering their own wives and partners in a day than illegals immigrants murdering women in a full year. Yawn. Every life is precious but let’s have a reasonable conversation on risks and issues. Immigration isn’t a big issue to an American’s life, unless you take away workers and watch the impact to the economy.

Infrastructure was in major need of upgrading. If you don’t think so you are in the minority and I welcome you to horse and buggy your way to work.

I'm not in the habit of posting about my feelings on friends that I have lost in combat on a public message board. I'll leave it at that.

I guess you missed all the Democrats that were part of the LIHOP/MIHOP crowd about 9/11. I was also in Ramadi during the surge when Pelosi and Reid said OIF was lost. Might want to check the walls in that glass house before you start throwing stones.

Being able to control your state's borders is one of the key things a government is supposed to do. Especially in the US where the federal government is the only entity that can enforce it. Claiming anyone worried about illegal immigration is really just a racist is part of the reason why Harris and Democrats lost this election.

Let me know when the infrastructure is actually complete and when I can use it. How many EV chargers have been completed under the Infrastructure bill again?

Are you really doing "Biden bad, Afghanistan withdrawal his bad fault?"

Although typical to see this low brow positing from many on the right, and tired and expected to hear from the makeup wearing blame-caster who contributed to the challenge without having a solution for anything.....it's disappointing to see from you.

Additionally, your article doesn't really seem to say the things you assert that it does. Unless, of course, you were in favor of reinserting thousands of troops into Afghanistan that Trump had withdrawn.

    From your article;

“If he thought the deal was bad, he could have renegotiated. He had plenty of opportunity to do that if he so desired,” Miller, a top Pentagon counterterrorism official at the time the Doha deal was signed, said in an interview.

Renegotiating, though, would have been difficult. Biden would have had little leverage. He, like Trump, wanted U.S. troops out of Afghanistan. Pulling out of the agreement might have forced him to send thousands more back in.

    And look, here's a member of Trump's own team criticizing the deal left from him for Biden to manage;

The Doha agreement was a very weak agreement, and the U.S. should have gained more concessions from the Taliban,” said Lisa Curtis, an Afghanistan expert who served during the Trump administration as the National Security Council’s senior director for South and Central Asia.

She called it “wishful thinking” to believe that the Taliban might be interested in lasting peace. The resulting agreement, she said, was heavily weighted toward the Taliban, contributed to undermining Afghan President Ashraf Ghani — he fled the country Sunday and is now in the United Arab Emirates — and facilitated the release of 5,000 Taliban prisoners without a commensurate concession from the Taliban.

This is tired stuff by now. Shameful that it was used as a political football by the right. Really, Trump's doing so should have been included in the long list of deal-breakers for a vote for Trump. But as we saw, his supporters were willing to excuse anything from him.

While on the surface and for many of us here the economy is fine, many don’t feel like it is.

Prices that rose very fast and haven’t dropped, massive increase in housing costs, auto costs, borrowing costs all have big impacts for people who don’t have a lot of disposable income.

They vote with their pocketbooks, not what the metrics regarding the economy show.

I said this many times during the election, people (even Dems) liked her less than HRC (which is saying something).
