Man, I never thought Season 2 of Game of the Oval Office could eclipse Season 1 in drama but the writers are outdoing themselves. Acting is weak though. The two leads have lost their edge and seem to be mailing it in.

 

The determining factor may be how well Biden does in the meetings behind closed doors in this week's NATO summit. If he's incoherent the chances are that he will be persuaded to withdraw. If he performs reasonably well he will most likely remain the Democratic nominee and his critics within the party will probably rally behind regardless of their misgivings.

 

The skeptic in me says that this “meeting” is nothing other than for show - to “tell the world” that Committee has the full faith and confidence in Biden and his cognizance, and therefore so should you.

NY Times isnt usually so loose with stories. Either they really suspect something based on inside sources or they are really slinging mud that is unlike them.

 

You know they're going to move to push him out. You don't publicly question the president's future if you're not going to push him out. All that does is cast more doubt on his viability as a candidate. So they are going to push him out. The question is when, how and if he will go without a meltdown.

 

It could be like a Trump Cabinet meeting where everyone around the table just pledges loyalty.

I would expect an Alzheimer’s or dementia specialist. Visually he doesn’t seem to have Parkinson’s. But who knows.

Yeah, ironically, to me the biggest indicator that he is unfit for office would be his refusal to drop out. That would show very poor judgement and a lack of insight on his part. He'd be putting himself above the good of the country, and we already have Trump doing that, we don't need both nominees doing it.

I don't begrudge him a couple of weeks of bluster though. It's a big change, but it has to be made. Hopefully he makes it in the next week or 2.
