But they have increased costs and aren't saving as the article says. Not great.

That’s hard to believe. At least here in Florida. Most people’s largest expense is housing. And housing costs have gone through the roof since 2019. Even if you bought prior, your insurance costs have probably doubled. And if you were renting or bought in the last 2-3 years, you are hurting.

Just looking at the real wage numbers from BLS, real wages were slightly higher in Sep 2023 than they were in Sep 2019. But yeah, we need a lot more affordable housing. With mortgage rates at 8% due to the Fed, that's not going to happen. Housing starts are down.

You guys crack me up. The average driver uses 645 gallons of gas a year. That is $1.77 per day more for every $1 gas increases and that is all you goons talk about.

good news, but cautiously optimistic. certain sectors of the economy are in for a crash with looming debt refinancing negotiations. A perfect reason / opportunity for AI and other disruptive technologies to be implemented.

Many large companies seem to be doing well but the majority of businesses are small. Small caps are struggling and that doesn't bode well for the economy. Still think it's too early to start celebrating as 2024 could be rough.

People have been speaking of doom and gloom for 2 years now. It's like everyday saying it's going to rain. It will rain eventually but enjoy the sunshine while it's out and have your umbrella ready. They were saying that travel was up last quarter so people are still spending money

Come on Biden.. you couldn't round to an even 5.0? Geez, 4.9% on our volume of GDP is quite a feat. The student debt repayment start off could be well timed with the growth to negate each other for yet another soft landing. One can hope.

Holy crap I was super busy this AM and didn’t have CNBC on. That’s a freaking monster # better than expected. Economy is rocking only drag is Fed. I get it for the rest of the year but they’re going to have to cut starting Q1 24.

Tip of the hat to Joe!

But try filling up my boat tank, and I've got Boat Parades in the not too distant future.

Haven’t seen one in years. I think it’s because all the nutty Trumpers have given all their gas money to Trump. Explains why many here can’t afford ESPN + for our cupcake games that aren’t televised on regular channels.
