Probably true, but of course Trump would have much more baggage. Trump comments can never be considered in isolation, because he has years and years of crazy escalating rhetoric. Any “new” comment just gets added to the pile of crazy.

This is the same guy who said “you have to fight like hell or you wont have a country anymore”, egging on his nutbar followers to sack the capital on 1/6. These are people who wanted to hunt down and hang Mike Pence FFS. Yeah, it’s not great to campaign with the idea one guy is attempting to “end democracy” or become a big guv tyrant, the problem is that argument isn’t entirely divorced from reality, actually he’s promised as much.

I’d prefer no candidates use “bullseyes” in their campaign rhetoric, certainly not visual bullseyes. Actually I’d prefer no gun crazies were involved in politics at all. (ex. that dude posing with his children holding rifles in a supposed Christmas photo is mega cringe). But half the country eats that shit up.

True, but keep in mind that Trump referred to Second Amendment solutions with respect to Hillary Clinton at one his MAGA rallies in 2016 and has expressed support of militias that advocate violence as a last resort to solve political problems.

    Excellent point.

No doubt this is an awful moment in our history. But so are all the dozens of mass shootings in our schools, churches, synagogues, nightclubs, concerts, big box stores, etc.

    Top of the ridge
The left has pummeled Trump for years for being minting violence with his speech.
Now five days after Biden uses terms like
    Put Trump in a bullseye
    Can’t go another day
    Have I go after him…
    We have an assassination attempt.
Yall can’t duck this. Biden and the left has stirred up the radical left with their rhetoric of DT being a threat to democracy.

I know libs will down play it but if the table had been turned the same libs down playing would be screaming insurrections as loud as they could.

Counterpoint: what if Trump actually is a threat to democracy?

I think that can be communicated easily without resorting to violence. Quite a reach to equate this Biden comment to “2nd amendment solutions”, “stand back and stand by”, “they are poisoning the blood of our country”, or the crazy shit Trump did in ‘16 encouraging supporters to rough up people at his rallies (and laughably offering to pay their lawyer fees). That’s before we even get into his “dictator on day 1” or the idea of deportation camps for millions.

Anyone trying to blame shift the “heated rhetoric” either has some serious blinders on, or has the attention span of a gnat. Trump is the common denominator.

If you bothered reading the full article regarding Biden's use of term bullseye it's obvious that he was speaking metaphorically and was referring to focusing the presidential campaign specifically on Trump and his policies. My guess is that you found out about Biden's use of the term on social media or one of pro-Trump media outlets like Fox News and you're simply repeating it and yes Trump is a threat to Democracy and he should be defeated once and for all at the ballot box.

    What’s good for the goose…

"Hillary wants to abolish, essentially abolish the Second Amendment," Trump said to the crowd of supporters gathered in the Trask Coliseum at North Carolina University in Wilmington. "If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks.

"Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is. I don't know."

That quote from Biden will inevitably get massive airplay over the next week from a media that has already mostly turned on Biden. It’ll be spun as another reason to replace him.

Biden was wrong to use such language. But there's no comparison between Biden and Trump, who has spread thousands of LIES, frequently encouraged violence, and often referred to migrants, minorities and opponents as "animals" and "vermin".

I can visualize the republican PAC-sponsored television ad now - Biden’s words over the scene of Trump being covered by secret service then a defiant Trump with fist raised,

Even if Biden actually ordered the hit going by MAGA logic, he is the sitting president and this could be considered an official act so he has full immunity. Lol.

Even a low IQ person knows what Biden meant. He was as direct as he could be and then some considering he can barely put a sentence together before he starts mumbling-out nonsensical words.

Ahhhh, I see, of course. Now it all makes sense. Doh! Biden was talking about Bullseye BBQ sauce.... silly us.

And he didn't say "threat to democracy," but "fret over democracy"--we just misunderstood him due to his speech impediment consequent to the dementia he never had and doesn't have...

Our bad. It's on us.... LOL!

Ok. Let him campaign on that.

Is he immune from alienating the voting public?

(Sadly, as deeply inflicted with TDS as so many of ya'll are, he probably is for such...).

It’s odd that folks who believe a person should be reprimanded for “misgendering” a transgender ….. have no problem with Joe Biden’s comment about making Trump the “bullseye”.
