She would be my first choice, she has the most upside, but she is relatively new on the national stage and we don’t know how she will play nationally - and that can circle back to your home state. In spite of Desantis popularity his FL popularity dropped during his candidacy.

Michelle Obama isn't going to run. That being said Rick you and you're fellow Trumpers should be careful what you wish for. While Kamala Harris may have somewhat of likeability problem in the most recent polls she's polling within the margin of error and in a debate with Trump she would shred the defeated indicted former president to the point that he will sweat so much that his orange makeup would run down his face.

Which imo is a good thing. It will really stick out when maga start their hate & attacks against her.
I think she is one of the few dem candidates that would actually energize many in a large voting block (dem and many indie women).
Most all agree Dear Leader was one of the worst potus in history (generally regarded as a bottom 3), but depending on “vote against Trump” may not be enough this time. Especially with Biden. And that is a common retort when Biden’s competence is asked about with Biden supports. “Yeah but what about Trump”

I haven't read the whole thread but Biden isn't going to salvage his campaign doing short speeches where he reads off a teleprompter. He has to do 20-30 minutes speaking off the cuff and not having any meltdown moments like he had in the debate.

5 minute speeches off the teleprompter isn't going to convince anyone, it will just make it worse.

It’s not just about the White House any more, Biden has the potential to be an absolute down ballot disaster at this point.

And who cares how the next 2 events go? There are 4 months until the election and every single one of his public appearances is now a focus group for him. Every. Damn. One. And somewhere along the way he’s going to fail a test, or more, and the downside will be amplified the closer Novemenr gets. There’s no way this ends well, even if he seems ok. No one trusts him after that debate shit show, and the down side could be cataclysmic for the Dems. He needs to get out now and spend the summer at Rehobeth Beach in retirement.

If you think a Trump presidency would be bad, let's try a GOP super majority in the house and senate. Imagine what they would do what that kind of unchecked power.

What I find fascinating about this whole scenario is that you previously had Republicans and Trump supporters piling on Biden. Now, we see Democrats jumping in on Biden as well. What has never happened is the Republicans jumping in on Trump despite his constant legal troubles, lying, and general contempt for the courts, law enforcement, and Congress.

It's just such an obvious difference. Moderate and liberal Democrats are questioning Biden and applying pressure for him to step down. When are the Republicans going to put pressure on Trump? Until that happens, I don't believe that there is any genuine concern for the country on that side other than they want Trump to be their President. Dems are showing that they can at least keep it 100 when they see fault.

I was going to ask, when has OK or anyone on the right (save for never Trumpers) applied that standard to Trump?

    Answer: never.

Because no one is actually excited or motivated by Joe Biden. He enjoys support because he’s “Not Trump” and Dems are piling on to try to get a more electable “Not Trump” instead.

While I can’t say I personally understand the appeal, there are a whole lot of voters who are excited by Trump. Meaning trying to force a change on the GOP side risks alienating, instead of gaining, voters.

Said differently, Dems aren’t jumping ship on Biden because they think he’ll be a shitty President, they’re jumping ship because they’re worried he’ll be an unelectable candidate.

I would say both sides with a super majority would be worrisome. But agree, especially maga as they are irrational, more selfishly focused, and follow conspiracies.

Trump told people that in addition to expressing their misplaced grievances, they could also abandon their ethics and embrace criminality.

And we've seen that they've done so.

This is basically the difference between the Trump and Nixon eras. Fifty years ago Republicans balked when they realized that tolerating each level of criminality would be followed by a steeper one, and refused. Today? They have no problem with it.

Interesting that Trump has been able to exercise some self control ….. being uncharacteristically quiet during the period of relative turmoil in the democrat party. Someone must have hidden his phone and laptop.

Seems all of this chaos regarding Biden remaining the presumptive dem nominee or being forced off the ticket confirms there is a pervasive mental health crises in liberal America.
