Looks like tropical cyclone season is starting up quick, or this could be a warning about the last 2 weeks of the Supreme Court term. Either way, time to start watching

Crap. I'm sitting in Jacksonville wondering if there shouldn't be some middle ground between weeks of drought and deluge every day. I'm not talking about the 30 minute rain that used to hit every afternoon starting in late summer. I mean thunderstorms that stretch from here to Lake City ... and then crawl slowly over my house.

Pensacola had tornado warnings and one confirmed PDS tornado last night. Power outages. Damage in some places. Emergency-level flooding. I think that's the longest thunderstorm event I've ever experienced. It was just relentless for hour and hour due the "training" that was not forecast. I am a weather nerd, but I hope the hurricanes are all fish storms this year. We've all had enough.

I’m in the worst possible flood zone for the last 14 years. After Ian’s near miss I got flood insurance finally. I feel like the odds of a direct hit from a major storm are dramatically improving

90% now. Still a lot of models have it curving North before it impacts us, but scary nonetheless and far from certain

Feels like it’s only a matter of time for all of in this state. Extend out 20 years and it feels highly unlikely that all os will be hit at least once
