Betting on Alabama Baseball Games Halted

Cincinnati and betting on fixed baseball games? Shades of 1919.

 

College baseball is one of easiest sports to gamble IMO... Much higher win rate than I do other sports... Granted most are just ML bets. but guarante I/we know more SEC/college baseball than these odds makers do.. pitcher quality, etc.

Still havent seen the difference in odds that supposedly caused the 'suspicious' bets. Skenes was (-245) vs Bamas #2 or 3 . The next day LSu #2 was (-225) vs Bama ace. So had to be a minimal difference in the Skenes game

And wouldnt the odds been lower on the LSU bets, meaning less profit?

Someone noticing a late scratch and deciding to bet big isnt suspicious at all to me even if a big odd difference,, Gurantee it was minimal here. -245 to -255/-260 is my guess.

Now obviously if there was a Bama person making the bet after the late scratch then we have a story. Highly unlikely IMO,, and why wasnt he just betting the -245 to startt with?? lol

Another update..kind of.. Still no specifics.

Still makes zero sence wagering wise. If Skenes the pitcher that was scratched then it makes perfect sense..lol How who bama was going to pitch making a difference, unless McMillian, eludes me. And LSu was -225 vs McMillian w/out Skenes the next day..so even if was McMillian still eludes me.

 

Fired the HC today, seems like a big story about to come out

 

So he was fired for a late pitching change b/c there was a large bet made after?? **Untill I hear otherwise

So lets assume it was someone inside Bama... Why did they wait to bet on LSU after the pitching scratch.. It was less profit than before.. Did 'they' really think LSU was going to lose w/ Skenes before the change?

Or if Bo made th change for wagering puposes. why not get the wager in before odds changed? or maybe they did??? Still made zero difference who pitched for Bama in reality of it all..

 

University of Alabama athletic director had this to say in a statement:

“We have initiated the termination process for head baseball coach Brad Bohannon, for, among other things, violating the standards, duties, and responsibilities expected of University employees.

“Bohannon has been relieved of all duties and Jason Jackson will serve as the interim head coach. There will be no further comment at this time pending an ongoing review.”

Ok,, like what exactly? having best team at Bama in 10 years??

If I were Butch he would be rehired and recruiting by the weekend..

 

They host Vandy tonight on espnu, be interesting too see what the talking heads say. hopefully not KP. can pretty much guess his stance on it.

They care very little about baseball, so why not take the high road here and fire coach. Rumors were Bo rubbed the wrong people the wrong way to start with. Perfect excuse.

Wouldnt be shocked if Bo sued. Unless we hear more.

From what I heard on the radio because of the late scratch some of the books did not change the odds in time. On the other hand LSU was already favored in the game. I dont think anyone that really knows what happened has said anything yet.

 

yep,,my first thought when it first came out was the book just whining b/c late on the change. still not sure the case. but the change couldnt of been much. lsu was already -245.. if gos much higher, its removed anyway.. maybe thats the issue here. Didnt get it off the board in time.. still the books problem IMO.

My site cancelled all wagers on Uga-OM b/c of a time change.. whether you got in befor game started or not.. Seems like an option that could of been used here if something they thought fishy..

Completely forgot there was a player lawsuit vs Bo/bama in the works.

Not new news,, but just another thing that makes me think this firing really had nothing to do w/ the "gambling"

Accussing him of gambling just to justify firing for other reasons, doesnt sound like will go well for Bama legally ,,but ???
