    They appear to have a comprehensive set of criteria, though I'm not certain who is giving the scores. Unsurprisingly, FL did not rate very well. As a former school teacher in FL, this is very disappointing.

    Looks like Florida is ranked a little high at 50 to me. NC woefully underpays so it deserves its 46 ranking.

    It's not a post, bluke it's a website with rankings on best states for teachers. The organization has generated a number of rankings on different topics. You might find this one more favorable: Best States to Find a Job

    If you think these rankings are bs and politically motivated, let's hear your rationale. I'm open to a discussion about the validity of the rankings. Let's hear it.

    I see these fools base their figures on things like average salary and average retirement....wonder if they took into consideration the cost of living in Cal and Washington.

    I don't tend to take things at face value, but have no reason to doubt the FL ranking, esp. given the recent oppressive policy-making. I was referred to this by one of my friends who is a career educator in S FL. If I were a new graduate seeking a teaching gig, FL would not be on the list of states where I would want to teach.
