WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden was seething.

In a private meeting at the White House in January, allies of the president had just told him that his poll numbers in Michigan and Georgia had dropped over his handling of the war between Israel and Hamas.

Both are battleground states he narrowly won four years ago, and he can’t afford any backsliding if he is to once again defeat Donald Trump. He began to shout and swear, a lawmaker familiar with the meeting said.

More about Biden becoming unglued in the article. Michigan and Georgia are Trump Country!!

The only person that could lose to Biden would be trump. We could do so much better.
Georgia may be trump country in the future but Biden won it last time and took both senate seats due to trump stupidity. Trump's false narrative calling into question our polling integrity gifted the senate to the democrats and was probably the dumbest political move I have ever personally witnessed.

RE the diminishing support from democrat anti-semites, I just don’t see those people voting from Trump. Regardless of the dissatisfaction with Joe, in the end they will all vote for Biden.

Or they will stay at home, which is what will sink Plagiarizing Joe. With all the new voting integrity laws, ballot stuffing isn’t as much an option this time around either.

The headline doesn’t match the story. It’s 99% a recap of where we are… good economy with Biden getting little credit and that one story.

Agree. While Trump campaigned on behalf of the Republican Senatorial candidates prior to the Georgia runoff election he kept questioning the integrity of the election in the same speeches and his speeches apparently had the opposite of their intended purpose. Contrary to historical norms in Georgia runoff elections turnout fell off more in Republican leaning counties compared with the general election than in Democratic counties.

I am too and it has nothing to do with who wins. It has to do with the polarization of each side. I joked about it in another thread recently, but if you don't think there exists the makings of a civil war, you are not paying attention. That's not a prediction. I think we will persevere regardless of who wins. But you have a country that has an opposition leader who by all accounts would most likely win if the election were held today, while at the same time carrying 91 felony indictments (most of which seem to be in deep peril). That's how revolutions, civil wars break out.

If Trump wins, he will inevitably seek retribution against the powers that be whom indicted him. Those powers that be (or were) will push back. If Biden wins, it'll be by a hair again and god knows what will happen. Whatever happens, I hope we all keep our senses.

If there's going to be a civil war, that means MAGA patriots taking up arms against local police, possibly the national guard, and in a worst case scenario - the US Military. Will the same "back the blue" folks who thought it was disrespectful that black athletes were kneeling for the anthem be willing to shoot and kill members of the police force and military? There are certainly members of the police force and military who would support the cause but it would not be 100%. Are they willing to kill their fellow officers and soldiers?

You're making a BIG assumption that police and military would line up against Trump supporters. Exit polling and other polling data show a majority of military and police voted for Trump in 2020. Look no further than the Jan 6th riots to see police do nothing to stop Trump supporters and that was at the Capitol, in DC, which is leans dark blue. Some of the biggest revolutions in world history were scenarios where the military turned on the ruling elite.

Hundreds of convictions later we are doing fine. Hillbillies have been talking about civil war since the last one ended. Look out for the Michigan Militia. lol.

Candidates are always anxious about elections. If they aren't then they shouldn't be running

I think you're the one making a BIG assumption that because someone voted for Trump that they'd be willing to engage in a civil war. That's a world of difference.

That's interesting. Democrats are not going to start a civil war. But you appear to be counting on Republicans doing it and the military/police going along with it. Because ... they put party over country?
    That's so cool ...
