Didn't QB Terry Baker win a Heisman with OSU? I remember he was really good. That was decades ago, and I guess it's the last thing that I remember about the Beavers. That is, until this year. They seem like a blast from the past. Maybe now they are here to stay. I have to believe they're a little disappointed to be playing a 6-6 team in the bowl, which could work in our favor. Lord knows we need something to.
FL went 7-5 against the spread this year. We were 3-1 ATS away from home. Unfortunately, OR st went 10-2 ATS and 3-2 ATS away from home.
We thank you for the consideration. A big part of the rivalry is the lack of pro sports in Oregon. We have the Blazers and past that we identify with our University. The ducks tend to have more fans that did not go there due to their success the last 2 decades (they were not good before that) and their endless football cosplay uniforms. My wife is a duck and without fail her first comment on every game is about the uniforms. Good luck to you as well! If you stop by any of our boards you will mostly see Beavs hand wringing hoping we can be competitive, there is a huge amount of collective trauma haha
Indeed he did in 1963. I guarantee the broadcast will have atleast a 1 minute feature on him. Our other high light was the 2001 where we throttled Notre Dame 41-9. Other notable football alumni you may have heard of are Belitnekoff winner and COHF member Mike Hass, NFL QBs Derek Anderson and Matt Moore, NFL RB Steven Jackson, NFL WRs TJ Houshmanzadeh, Chad Ocho Cinco and Brandon Cooks, NFL LB Nick Barnett, NLF S Jordan Poyer and Al Afalava. There has been others with some national spotlight but probably not enough to be remembered down South.
I'm not an NFL fan, so the only name there that rings a bell is Ocho Cinco, and that's only because of the name. (Why would someone be named Eight Five?) And please don't mention any Bilnetikoff winner. Fred Bilnetikoff played for FSU. Don't need to be reminded!
Yes, but the timing is what sucks about it all. I just wish these opt outs would happen after the bowl game. Lol. yeah, we even had a walk on QB decide to get into the Transfer Portal. That's a sure sign of abandonment. I think we can all agree that star ranking system is not always accurate. At least your guys play like a team that want's to win and play for each other. They look like a team that plays for the love of the sport, not for NIL cash. But the transfers are a whole other story... the statistics on the transfer players is not 100% guaranteed. Some of these players might find themselves without a team and no more scholarship from their previous team to boot. Some of our players will have to face reality and sign with a G5 team. I read that 40% of the players that enter the portal do NOT land on a new team? That could mean that if our portal players quit before the bowl game they might not have a scholarship from our school to fall back on. Not sure how that's going to work, but it will be interesting to see it unfold.
I personally feel like the team, as a whole, has "shown up" and played hard on a pretty consistent basis. IMO, a mind numbingly erratic QB was the wild card that frustrated any efforts to win at least a couple more games and finish with a somewhat better record. The Vandy game was the only true team "failure to compete."
There’s still only a couple of actual “opt outs”. The transfers have to go during the window the ncaa set, and you have to realize these guys need to be able to talk to teams asap so they can try to find a place to get enrolled before the spring semester starts. I don’t see the point in us playing any of these guys who aren’t staying anyway. All the transfers aren’t just about us being able to hit the portal hard either. They had to happen just to sign a normal sized hs class. If the only players leaving were those out of eligibility and those leaving early for the draft, we’d only be able to take about 10 new players this year. If you want to take more than that, we have to make room.
Yes, and this year the NCAA made the transfers dates from December 5th for 45 days and then it reopens May 1through the 15th. When do we have to be at 85 players? When is that deadline?
You should be tarred and feathered for coming here and say you're pulling for our opponent, WTF, man? Go Buckeyes!
We are not motivated for the game (and no offense at all to you or your team). We have higher expectations (although expectations have not met reality for a long time). While you guys have a full roster, we are trying to locate one by going to various drive-throughs across the State. If you know someone with two arms, or just a throwing arm, have him (or her) submit the resume to @UFRosterSearchAnyoneWillDo. Our color scheme is usually Orange and Blue, although we have decided to only carry one of them due to the absence of >50% of the roster. We had been good running the football all year, but our running game has reverted to,again, running to drive throughs to locate a roster. Nobody is sure whether we will be able to run the ball at the BowlGame. Our passing game is, well, erratic and, er … unpredictable. See above for more information. We have a rabid fan base that will loudly and viscerally point fingers blaming everything for adverse circumstances. To be sure, it is in fact all of your personal fault for whatever adversely happens at the game. Our defense, on the other hand, is extremely respectful and courteous to our opponent. Your offense is sure to be treated with delicate kindness and appreciation. Our special teams are indeed, “special.” We have a very large coaching staff and analysts, much larger than we have current players. You might advise your team to spy on us to make sure our analysts don’t dress for the game. Thanks for coming to our Boards and look forward to hearing more from you as the game gets closer.
Offensive line is very solid. We have had some injuries but the starters should all be lined up and ready to go in Vegas. We don't get blue chip backs but since Smith got back we churn out 1000 yard rushers and NFL bound backs every year. Thats mostly due to offensive line play. THAAATTTTT said we are not the best at pass blocking. We have trouble giving our less than stellar QBs getting time against talented qb rush and blitzes. Best move for you guys is to load the box and blitz all day and just hope we can't make over the top connections.
1. We're down 27 and counting, hopefully, those that remain will be motivated 3. Good thing with going with our 3rd string guy is there is no tape no him. 4. Brutally inconsistent 5. Break and bend 6. Rushed with O'Cyrus on the line, he gone.
