My middle found a lost keeper Pompano (small lime grown in the backyard) in the back country of Palm Coast. Add to it some garden grown jalapeño poppers and fresh salad (kale is crazy good) from the farmers market in St Augustine with pears olive oil feta cheese and light seasoning. Let’s just say I confirmed my favorite fish is Pompano. Though a new contender is the Sheepshead my youngest and I caught at the beginning of Thanksgiving week.
You have a lovely family, Q. Over the years you have posted many pictures of your wife, children, and yourself on vacations, participating in sports, and such. But now you have posted another thread illustrated with pictures entitled "Be jealous." So out of curiosity I ask - why do you want Too Hot readers to "be jealous" of what you have?
It was a joke. I don’t want people to be jealous of what I have. No intention of that was ever meant. And I am pretty sure just about every one understood the humor and purpose of the title when they saw the post. But honestly I am surprised you did not see the joke in the title as much as we have communicated over the past and your understanding of my posting. I am sorry you took the title as something it was not.
That was my first time targeting them and you are spot on. That rib cage was legit. I always check out a video when cleaning a fish I have not done. And was prepared for the ribs. Everything seemed fine and like cleaning a red or black drum. I still don’t know what it was about the ribs but the sheepshead but at that point it stopped being easy. And unlike the red it was not a simple crush through the ribs…
Hate to generalize on this but, there might be something to it. Seems dems might be a little high strung. Hell we had one libbie say the movie Ferris Buellers Day Off describes the problem with white folks. Lighten up people.

Well I am kind of jealous. I like to fish and that sheepshead is bigger than any I’ve ever caught. I think it’s awesome you do stuff like that with your sons.
I am still trying to get where the wife is on the healthy food. She has done wonders for my diet. But her research on things as we continue to build our practice around Integrative Dental Medicine has made the diet and healthy foods a front and center issue. Kale is typically really bland. But the St Augustine farmers market had some really good stuff the past two Saturdays. Get to go again this Saturday but after that will be a while before we can get back…
We are blessed for sure. My oldest daughter likes to fish. My middle daughter likes it a little more. But my son absolutely loves it! The sheepshead in the rain jacket he caught all by himself. I was on the spin bike in the sun room watching as he was fishing. Went through a handful of baiting fiddler crabs by himself. Then all of a sudden I see him run out from behind the pool deck and grab pliers and run back where I can’t see him. I yell to my middle to go see if he has something. Sure enough. He caught. Netted and got the hook out of the sheepshead by the time I paused my spin to get a picture.
I still can’t believe my middle got the Pompano. I saw it right after it hit by the boat. Then the couple times she got it close to the boat I thought it looked like a Pompano but was having trouble believing it. Then I was pretty certain and my anxiety got going as I did not want to lose dinner lol. She now has the PB for our family with Pompano. Still have one of the sheepshead ready for this weekend.
