Nah, I don't want him here. I think he had a good game only because we didn't have Micah. I like our guys to have a certain character. That said, if by longshot he did end up in Gainesville, I'd welcome him as a Gator and fully support him.
We actually recruited him last year out of TCU. Never visited. Really good offensive rebounder, fairly effective in the paint, not a bad passer. But not what we need currently in terms of rim protection and ability to play with two bigs defensively, especially without Handlogten.
I am getting a little bullish on this dude. Doesn’t have the length we want, but he was a late bloomer who added 40 pounds his first two years, dominates the glass on both ends, and seems to be an above average passer. He has really showed out against P5 teams, too. Went for 16p, 11rb, and 4b in a win over Louisville, and 13p, 6rb, and 3b in a loss to Auburn. If Handlogten were healthy, he would be the perfect complement to our current bigs. NBA Draft Scouting Report: Chattanooga's Sam Alexis
Yeah, I don't think he would fit character-wise...but would bring toughness and girth that we may be lacking. I'm tired of our bigs getting bullied in the paint. Of course, we defer to TFG to decide!
It now seems certain that Glover will start at the point for Kansas State next season if he is healthy and doesn’t go into the portal.
That was the idea. Kind of like the opposite of what one thinks of DEI, because it is applying to a sport dominated by black players.
