As I said above, I’m not in love with the idea, and it could be a massive bust, but it is exactly what Clayton needs to do if he wants to make the next level. I actually thought that was the plan last year before we got Pullin. As long as we have a few other options in the event he can’t handle it, then we should be okay. Really need Aberdeen to take the next step and be a 20-25 mpg player, who can give us 10-15 of those at the one. Hopefully Kublickas can chip in another 10+ with a full season/offseason under his belt. Staff sounds high on him. And if you do add another wing, that means Aberdeen can concentrate on backcourt responsibilities.

Again, it’s a risk, but if it adds a good two way player/shot creator like Martin and it brings Clayton back, the payoff may be worth it.

we feel very similar about it. Your read is pretty spot on with one addition. Martin is also a NBA prospect who is looking to showcase more of his skill set. I will wait to add more once that final decision is made.

Agreed. As long as his leg is healed up, getting in basketball shape should be relatively simple for Micah. Getting in basketball shape is really only hard for overweight dudes who show up to camp fat. In my early 20’s, I recovered from an ankle sprain that supposedly worse than a break in about 6-8 months. Getting back in basketball shape was a quick process.

Again, as I posted a few weeks ago, I broke my leg the same way as Micah did on the basketball court. 5 months later I was running and playing again no problem. My only problem was, I didn't rehab it as hard as I should've and I never was the same with the left leg. Micah on the other hand, should have no problem with the trainers he has with the basketball team. So I suspect he will be just fine when the season rolls around personally.

I hear you. I'm stubbornly playing through multiple knee injuries now and rehabbing on my own at the gym using the latest Internet "bro science" and Youtube videos. Trying to avoid surgery unless completely necessary, but it might be a counterproductive strategy.

I can still blaze through miles of running, so there's that at least. Micah should be good.

Martin joining would not be indication of Clayton leaving. I will be shocked if Clayton is not back next season.
Martin would start. He would be a Kugel upgrade in most ways other than size…. Better shooter, better scorer, better defender, better rebounder.

Hopefully Martin soon, and then the big Nigerian to give us some beef down low

Chinyelu is a big guy. Looking at his freshman year stats, he didn't get starter's minutes but maybe around 15 to 20 minutes per game. Average 4.7 points and 5 rebounds. 61.7% from the floor, only 49.8% from the free throw line. It does look like his free-throws improved over the 2nd half of the season, so that's encouraging. He also had some NBA Academy training in Nigeria, much like Condo got in Australia. And Condo's post offense was fairly advanced for a freshman.

Chinyelu's Washington State team was pretty good, too. 25-10 overall, 14-6 in the PAC-12. Advanced to the 2nd round of the NCAAT. So he's used to winning basketball against good competition. SEC ready, in other words.

Also, he went for 12 and 11 against Arizona.
Was WSU's all-time freshman leader in blocked shots, with 45.
Guys, we're gonna be tough in the paint again this year. So refreshing after getting outclassed in the paint year after year during the previous regime.
