It was like a teenage love too, the more we tried to point out the flaws in it, the closer it drew you to him.
Alexis has two years, Williams is a grad transfer, not sure about Peguese. Played three, so I guess no COVID year.
For all practical purposes, I meant that I would stop beating on the Glover theme. This is a broader thread than that.
Mods, could we split this thread or clean it up or something? Too hard to wade through to find actual portal news.
These guys leaving top programs are likely looking for bigger checks. Not sure those are the wars we can win.
I did a little investigating into twitter for hints, and Jordan Derkack is following the majority of our staff on twitter right now (Golden, Hartman, McCray, Hovde, Safir). I consider it a positive that we're at least in it for him. His style of play fits our offensive/defensive philosophies perfectly and if we're able to get him along with a PG like Pegues, next season could be special. I'm iffy on Richard handling the wing position by himself to be perfectly honest.
He seemed a little full of himself on the Pat McAfee show. Not what we're looking for in a player at his position either.
If he is from Indiana State and his last name were Aviary or Avis (root word for aviary) instead of Avila, he might be a little more believable. Hint : We are talking about something to do with a Bird.
you don't think we would want a 6'10" big who shot almost 40% from 3pt , 80% ft and has post moves... Also he was only a sophomore so would have 2 years to play.
No because he doesn't fit into our philosophy. Very weak defensively. He'd get blown up on the boards in the SEC. He'd want all the attention and the media would flock to him and no one else.
I play pickup ball in an over ~40 league with this guy. Spitting image. Same game (except only 6'3" ish) We started calling our guy Cream and it stuck. For this reason alone, I'd love to have this guy.
Being weak defensively he’d fit right in. lol I doubt coached shy away from a player who likes attention. Pretty much the best players of all time are alphas.
He played a solid game against Seton Hall and a great game against Utah. Seton Hall had a win over UConn this season. My guess is that this kid would do well in the SEC.
